  • looks easy enuogh, but..

In order to get this to work properly the injectors need to opens 30% more, since ethanol contain about 30% less energy than gasoline. I belive this kit will force the injectors to opens more, and thats works fine in low and midrange throttle.
But in full throttle there is just not possible for the injectors to opens more than 100%, that means the engine will run lean on full throttle, or?
please enlighten me on this issue....
nice video, love the idea with the kids fitting the conversionkit

Keep spreading the myths. Stock injectors run at only 50% of their maximum ability or duty cycle. You don't need 30% more ethanol. The system works with your vehicles computer and together they help to make efficient burning of ethanol. Converted vehicles end up using only 2-15% more E85. So injectors and fuel systems have plenty of room to accommodate ethanol use. I have a high performance engine and even wide open, there is no hesitation. You may have been told that ethanol has 30% less energy when tested in a laboratory, but please remember that under pressure, things burn very differently and more efficiently.

    • I'm not trying to spread myths

I'm just thirsty for knowledge. I'we allready tried a lowtech ethanol conversion on my chevy van ( fitted a restraint valve in the return fuel line to get higher fuelpressure) and it runs great. now I want to do the same to my Volvo 850, but since that car have multi piont injection I thinking of trying the more sofisticated way

    • That's Cool

Hey Cougar69- That's a cool idea with your van. Did you have to advance the timing? Is it fuel injected or carb? If you need a higher tech solution for your Volvo check out our website change2e85.com.

    • Chevy van -96 vortec

It's fuelinjected, single injector in the manifold (not TBI ) I used pressure cauge and rised the fuelpressure from 2,7 bar to 3,5 bar, I didn't need to adjust the timing.
It runs great, I think I even get more power from it now than when i used gasoline, the only downside is in cold outside temp it can be a little hard to start but if you top it of with some 15-20% of gasoline in the wintertime, there is no problem.
I will check out your website
