Amazing airplane.

This summer me and my friends were camping at a place called Sun Lakes. It's near a US Air Force base so a lot of aircraft flew by.

I was floating in the lake, and a C-17 did a low fly through the valley that the lake was in. It was going probably 300mph, and was only about 100 ft above the lake. They did it on purpose to entertain all the people there, it was so sweet. It's such a huge plane it makes you wonder how humans can make such a thing fly.

It only shows a C-17. Its pretty big, but the C-5 is a whole lot bigger and where are these helos and commercial birds that you spoke of. TARD DEE DEE DEE!!!

Why you americans always think you are alone in the world? If something is the biggest, fastest, largest in US that doesn't automaticly mean is the best in the whole world. Russians have 2 bigger aircrafts compared to C-17 Globemaster. An-124 and An-225!

This is not a C5. Trust me, I have an air force base 8miles from me and see(more often hear) these babies all the time. Also, for posterity, it is the largest US plane. I think the USSR used to beat us consistently on their preoccupation with size. Still amazing to see 5 C-5's parked on the tarmac. HUGE

Wasn't the b52 the biggest? I've been in one of those smaller transport ones. It was a c17 or small c5. It was the ones that one tank fits into. I had the opportunity to go in one while it was stripped down a bit and being repaired or updated or having scheduled maintance or something. The B52s they had were much bigger. Even though I didn't get to go in one just look at them. They were non active though.

"Mriya" is the biggest non-military airplane in the world.

What's important about this plane is it can get military into and out (of hostile territory) using the least amount of tarmac and at a speed that can do the job quickly. It is by far, for its size, the most maneuverable jet in service. It safely delivered and extracted my son when he was deployed to Iraq and believe me, I am grateful for that plane. Who cares if it's the biggest; it does what it's designed to do. Enough said.

This is a C-17 Globemaster III which has a MTOW of under 300 tons, the C5A Galaxy has a MTOW over 400 tons. The An-225 Mriya is 640 tons, but few were made so it can't really be considered as 'in service'.

this is definitely not the biggest military aircraft in the world. first off considering that it carries the president the boeing 747 airforce one is considered a military aircraft secondly this is the C-17 globemaster the little brother of the C-5 monster that sits on the tarmac of our nations air bases which just makes the C-17 seen here look like nothing

I live in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada across the river fro NF, NY, USA and there is an USAF airbase there that has one of these babys. It makes routine flights, if not daily, over my house. It is an awsome sight to see. However it is not the largest aircraft in the world, but the AN-226 is. But the C17 is one very huge beauty of a bird!

I think someone just came back from an air show all excited and blurted out an incorrect title to his/her new vid .. As stated before,this is a C-17 Globemaster which is one of the newest military cargo heavy jets ,but it is def not the largest in the world. This isn't even the U.S. 's biggest military aircraft. That title goes to the C-5 Galaxy. As for worlds biggest, certainly not (the C-5 would be a contender for that title, but I don't know how big Russia's largest is)

I live by an airbase that used to have the first squad of C-5's. They were transfered up north and now we have only C-17's. When a C-5 Galaxy comes to the local base the C-17's look like models when side by side. Sometime I have to go outside and see if these C-17's are gonna land on my roof as they fly very low around here when coming in for a landing..

A c5 in finland, and i have seen both the AN 124, and 225 in helsinki and frnakfurt, and i can tell you, this plane is nothing compared to a AN225.

while the AN-225 is larger, lets compare the total lift capacity.. there is ONE AN-225, while the USAF has 150 of the C-17 Globemaster III's (and 111 C-5 Galaxie's)

so while the US cargo planes aren't the biggest the volume of them sure makes up for the 57 AN-124 and the single AN-225 Russian built aircraft...

First of all this aircraft isn't even the largest in the US military fleet, that honor goes to the C-5 Galaxy. It's a C-17 Globemaster III. It was originally designed as a replacement for the C-130 but, it could not replace the C-130 because it was not nearly as versatile.
