one my phone fell in sea for an hour after i found it i washed it with clean water and i left it in the sun for 30 min and it worked

rice had anything to do with it, you had the phone in there for 3 seconds, i think if you actually turned it on, its gonna work

you have to make sure there's no water left. I would disassemble down to the circuit board and check before turn it on

My dad dropped his phone in the toliet the other day (no crap or piss, lol) and he took it apart dried it with a hair dryer and let it sit for about 12 hours. Next day, phone worked fine.

just let the phone dry over night...your process is only useful if the phone is submerged for a long period of time. even then, rice is not going to "pull" excess water from the circuit board.

Ok, it really may work without the rice, but the rice absorbs most of the moisture ( that's why people put rice on saltshaker)
what makes the mobile become ready for use faster than leaving it dry alone.
There are 2 points in witch rice is better than salt.
The first is that it absorbs more water than salt.
The second is that salt damages the inner circuits of the cell-phone, because the tracks that connects a component with another are made from a thin layer of copper, witch reacts and oxydes with salt ( AKA rust)

you dropped it in a bowl of water and took it out before any water could ever get in it, didnt even warrant taking it apart but simply drying off the surface water.

IN any case yes if it is to drop into water so that water goes in first thing to do is immediately take out the battery so the circuits dont fry,

and I prefer rice to salt to take moisture.
The most important thing is "turn off"

Did u noticed that when u dropped your cellphone to the water, not even the battery got wet??All u had to do is grab a towel and clean it... -_-
PS: If your cellphone falls into the water, take off the battery and the SIM then let the sun heat the back part a few hours...Happened twice to me... =|

you don't need rice to save a wet phone. trust me i've done it so many times cuz of my sister and my wife ... all i do is take the battery (and sim card, if its got one) wipe it dry and let it sit for a while (to dry) ...

Then i realized my phone was in my pocket. All I did was left it for a few days and it worked. No rice or taking a part needed. Although I'm sure it helps it dry faster.

so i dipped my phone in water and then did what u said but i 4got the rice :P so i ran to the cupboard to get it and then left it for about a week but my phone broke. :(

just take your phone in and complain about how the screen stopped working (wait a few days so its relatively dry) then hope to god your warranty isnt up yet

when my phone falled in watter... for about 5 min! it was there before i got it... it felt in a river anyway kinda hard was to get it out...
ok the thing ive done is after i got it out i turned it on and wow it didnt work... daa... after 2h i got home and tared it apart... leaft that way for the night and when i woke up and put it together it worked.... no fkn rice needed... o and comon mine was in watter for 5 min dude but ure shiti phone u just dumped it in for a bout a sec... and tore it apart like in 2 sec so no way watter could of gotten in the phone by the time...

I had dropped mine SE in to a container 5 inches deep and when I got it out, the phone was still working, then I removed fast as I can the battery, dry it whit hairdryer, then 20 minutes under the Sun and the phone was working perfectly ;]

I will remember the rice tip! This can work for pretty much any electronic device I bet as long as it isn't ruined first.
