Pilot Error
This video is from an Air Show at Mountain Home AFB in Sep 03. The pilot didn't set his altimeter correctly (MSL to AGL) and instead of pulling up to 2500 ft to start the Split-S, he started it at 1670 ft.

He ejected when the the jet was at 140 ft AGL - just 8/10ths of a second before the jet impacted the ground.

The pilot ejected with in seconds of impact. it was his error, not setting his attitude properly, and not using visual training. He relied on instruments more then his eye. He was a amateur to this pattern. He is a good pilot, but made a mistake that almost cost him his life. All he had to do is look up when the fighter was up side down and by training he would have known he was to close to the earth. Fighter pilots are trained to fly by wire( electronics ), The F16, flies by wire, and he depend to much on that.

  For what you wrote I know you're not a pilot or anything close, as a pilot you must trust your instrments 100% more that you trust your eyes so don;t tell me that his mystake was depend on his instruments. Don;t talk if you don;t know
