  • very cute!!

    and brilliant choice of music!!

By Check-it-out 1187148605 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Sure, brilliant.

But unfortunately rules out the possibility of getting paid for it. Copyrighted music means the video won't be accepted for the reward program.

    • It seems to me that

it already is in the Reward program since it was accepted as a Producer Reward Candidate.

By Vierotchka 1187291168 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Hm.

      Look up the word Candidate.

By Killbum 1187311079 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • I know the word well.

A video submitted to the Producer Reward has to be accepted by the reviewers before it becomes a candidate. Therefore, if it hasn't been rejected by the reviewers and becomes a candidate, the contents obviously passed the criteria, and once it is a candidate, it becomes a fully-fledged Producer Reward video once it has reached 20,000 hits.

By Vierotchka 1187358879 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Oops, I forgot to put "program" after

"A video submitted to the Producer Reward". I presume you haven't submitted any videos to the Producer Reward program, since you obviously didn't know how it works.

By Vierotchka 1187359030 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Listen Vierotchka,

This (and your) vidoes are "in the program" since you so elegantly want to put it that way, but they aren't accepted... It's like this:
You want to go to Harvard law so you become an applicant, i.e. a "candidate". You're not (repeat: not) in the school yet. Get it? Wait till the views get over 20.000, then Metacafe will evaluate it, and offer you a contract if you're accepted. (yup, you'll actually have to sign a paper).

By Killbum 1187474976 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • So, the contract is like a diploma

at university. One has gone through the program (into which one qualified to enter), and passed the finals. So, your allegory is faulty.

By Vierotchka 1187476538 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Inept comparison

By being accepted as a candidate, one has passed a review and not been rejected.

Same for Harvard - one passes the test to become a candidate lawyer, but one hasn't become a lawyer yet - but to be accepted into the school as a lawyer candidate, one needs to have certain qualifications.

By Vierotchka 1187476236 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • No,

you don't need any qualifications to apply for Harvard law. You need qualifications to be accepted. You automatically become an applicant to Harvard when you mail your application (and you can brag about that if you want to), but sooner or later the people in charge will deny you entrance, or possibly let you in.
The reviewers aren't the Metacafe staff, and when you review a video you don't even know if it's being submitted to PR. I should know, I'm one of them.

By Killbum 1187534122 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Oh, but to make sure:

Metacafe will not be able to handle your application to Harvard law, only your video submission.
Have you really not noticed all the videos on Metacafe, where old video clips are entered into the Metacafe program as if they were the submitter's own creations? Or clip shows where the "author" rips a lot of pics and makes a video out of them?
These aren't receiving a dime, but they are a part of the program to begin with, that's true.

By Killbum 1187475557 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Actually, no, I have not seen a single

Producer Reward Candidate video which was full of rips of lots of pics, nor any video that seems that it was not the submitter's own work. Neither get accepted as candidates, as far as I have been able to ascertain, unless they have been able to fool the reviewers.

By Vierotchka 1187476419 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Well.

Just take a quick glance at today's first page. We have "LOL Soldier", "A happy fireman" and "Optical Camouflage" - all of these are ripped off from their original makers. These are PR candidates, yes, but they are not members of PR and never will be.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're driving at. Anyway, this video here is no longer a candidate, so now there is nothing more to discuss, is it?

By Killbum 1187532854 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Ok, Killbum.

      We were both right. :)
