If you folks still decide to try, cut the end of the cob off BEFORE you freeze it. Some people might actually wonder how come it's so easy to cut through a frozen corn cob with an ordinary knife.
She used a Ginsu knife. They can cut through anything!

I feel like a fool for trying this. Popcorn kernels need to be completely dehydrated for this to work. Did you notice the sound of the popping corn on the cob? It sound exactly as if it were popping in a bag...MAYBE BECAUSE WAS THAT SOUND AND THEY DUBBED IT IN! I'd like to stick her in the microwave for 7 minutes...after she's been frozen for an hour and a half of course.
Even though this video is totally false (what happened to the cob in the middle??), you're wrong in thinking that kernels need to be completely dehydrated to pop. I know for fact that the ONLY reason kernels pop is because of the moisture in them... Ever wonder why steam comes out of a bag of popcorn??

The temperature of my microwave must be different or something because my popcorn did not pop like she said. Actually it did not pop at all. I was trying to impress my wife but looked pretty foolish
actually is a special kernel that pops into popcron. Not just any corn will work.

A rather cute girl takes the time to show us how to prepare a delicious snack. Who cares if she over-acted or not? We got to see a cute girl preparing food. Life don't get much better than that.
My perspective is that it gets MUCH better than that, of course!

what have we learned here, let see we can make pop corn thats still on the cob and it just takes an hour and 37 min. to do, or we can pop a bag in the microwave for around 3 min. and get 5 times as much pop corn. On the plus side, she taught me something i didnt know, so thanks for that.

freeze it EXACTLY or ABOUT 1 hour and 30 mins, whatever you do, you won't get popcorn

Okay heres the deal - she obviously has an ear of sweet corn. You can't make popcorn out of sweet corn because it needs to be dry. Yes, there is one tiny drop of water in popcorn (it's not dehydrated) but this is totally different than what you guys are watching. but also even if it were dry it wouldn't pop because there is too much sugar in each kernel and being on the cob would stop them from popping (though there are tiny popcorn cobs that will do that, just not right here). Also, that corn that you see from the highway, if you ever leave your smog infested caves, is more than likely for animals and ethanol, dont even think about eating that. It's all about hybrids folks.
If you didn't try to act and just acted like yourself, it would probably work better.
Besides "the simple magic of popping corn right on the cob!", this is an amateur video, that has good cameraman, good actress, and of course the director. I have seen already several times, and along with the comments below, make my day.
I have seen some lame videos in my day, and that one ranks very high. "exactly or about 1 1/2 hours"... Huh? If you think you're cute and want to launch your TV career by making a video that is completely useless and annoying to it's viewers, go ahead. Just make sure that the video is never posted on a site where people are infuriated by such colossal time-wasters

Popcorn is an entirely different species of corn. There is no way to pop corn that you can buy in the grocery store. You have to grow a completely different species of corn in order to pop it. There is NO WAY this is possible.

Well after experimenting, I found that I had to freeze the corn cob for about one hour twenty-eight minutes, --- plus my microwave must be a bit less powerful then hers, because it took thirty-two minutes for the popping to complete
Someone that actually has a CLEAN microwave. I didn't think that actually existed anymore.

I don't know, it seems real... And it seems easy for her to cut off the end, because she's using a jagged edge knife, looks like a bread knife. I know I'm going to give it a try.
