    watch in slow motion when he pushes the glass off the table. his finger goes inside of the shadow of the glass. also you couldnt push that kind of glass from the top and slide it, it would tip over onto the table.

      I just recently got into Criss Angel trying to figure out how he does these "illusions" slight of hand?

      I stopped the video between 11 and 12 seconds...yes, the olive moves even before his real human hand pokes out his index finger. Also right at about 11 seconds, the shadow extends the index finger before his human hand does.

      he pushed the glass in the middle of the holder, u try it, i did, the glass diddnt tip over once and i tryed it 10 times, and u should listen to what he says, watch your own shadow trying to touch another, the shadow is always longer then the persons body, his shadows shadow touched the glass so i think u need to look again.

      the video? First off, the olive on the glass moved before his finger (look at his real hand, not the shadow because of the bad quality of the video it's hard to tell) even began to flick at it, it was already 1/2 way across the glass....

      but magic is about tricking the participants, including us watching, that he could be real. It's too easy to dismiss his stunts since they're performed in a casino with only a few people around. David Blaine is nearly impossible to dismiss, unless you just don't like magic. I love that shoe laces trick he did on the Drowned special.

      I breezed thru these comments to see if anyone already realized this but did not see it. The
      "magic" happens when he askes the witness to pick a number on the table. He has to be quick and when Criss notices which number she goes for he quickly taps the attendee next to him the quantity the witness chooses. Then Criss stands back and does the tapping the shadow thing and asks the atendee what she felt. Note: He only askes what she felt, not when she felt it, or how many times he feels him tap her 3 times

      1 - Power of suggestion. He asks her to "randomly point here finger at a number". Most people would not reach all the way across the table to get the number 9. They are going to to what is convenient.

      2 - He asks her the same question twice. "What did you feel?" She answers "3 taps on my back". She has no clue where he is at cause here eyes are closed and he asks her again "Once again, what did you feel?". You have to think about what that question would sound like to you if you had your eyes closed. All she knows is that he did tap her back 3 times and thats all she answers.

      Then after it's all over all she says is he tapped my back 3 times. Cause that is exactly what he did, when the witness was preoccupied picking out a number.

      In any trick there is a misdirection. Why cant she just hold up her fingers to give him the quantity. No, he askes her to point with her finger at a series of numbers he laid out. Also notice that the camera angle completely follows her hand to show what she chooses. The trick has a good effect. Criss is a master of misdirection.

    Criss is a magician... the generally accepted definition of a magician is: someone who fools you with clever tricks.
    Hey 'When Nature Calls', if you think there's such a thing as REAL magic, then you're deluded. There has never been one documented case of REAL magic being performed under scientifically controlled conditions. Why? Because there's no such thing. AAMOF, many of the great illusionists (if you prefer that term to magician) have spent a large part of their careers DISPROVING the existance of REAL magic and exposing charlatans. They freely admit that they are tricksters.... so does Criss.
    As far as camera tricks, Criss generally doesn't use them. He performs the illusion as you would see them if you were there. Magicians use misdirection to draw the spectators' eyes away from where the "magic" is happening in order to achieve their goal, whatever that goal may be. The difference with live performance and video performance is that the camera doesn't look away and cannot be distracted. The other difference is that when it's live, you cannot play it back and view it in slo-mo. It's easy to play something over and over and analyze it and maybe figure it out, or at least point out what's wrong with it. But, when you see it live, something that may look stupid in slo-mo can be very convincing in person. That's what a magician does. And that's what Criss does. I doubt the girls are plants, although confederates are sometimes used in psychic tricks. Criss is smart enough to make that trick happen as you see it performed and he wouldn't need to resort to confederates in a simple illusion like this one. Criss can conjure circles around most magician hacks - you know, the kind of magicians that pull a bunch of flowers out of their magic wand, the kind that bore you to death at the kid's birthday party. That's why he has a hit television show and that's why you know his name.
    If something is apparent to you in the way a trick is done after you've slo-mo'ed it, then good for you. But Criss is a straight up guy. He shows you his illusions as they were performed, mistakes and all. If you enjoy it, fine. If you don't, then just go away. No need to call it "fake". CRISS would tell you that himself. If you think he's trying to be anything other than an entertainer, then the trick's on YOU.

    You know I am sick of all these tricks today with David Blane and Chris Angel. I don't know why they have to use actors and computer programs to make a trick work, that is when I lost interest in these guys. Why not just use simple tricks by yourself where the audience is real? You don't have to try flying, or walking on top of water, or splitting a girl in half, I always enjoyed card, coin and other object tricks. It is enternatining, you can also study them and try performing them yourself and that's why I think Cyril is the best. Chris Angel has gone TOOOOO far. Most of his tricks, are not magic tricks or illusions, but like all other TV Series, where you have bunch of actors, pre-written dialogue, and is fake. Just like watching Law and Order, or Friends, or Monk, or any other show. Whenever I see his tricks, I say to myself Ok, that's nice, and I move on and never think about it again because everybody knows what he did is impossible and not real and why waste time trying to solve it. I honestly can't believe that he has a show on national TV, which tell's me that there are sooo many morrons who enjoy his illusions. A real magicial/illusionist is one who finds real people and show them tricks with some object, which Chris does sometimes too, but what he did is go from magic to scifi series.

    Ok, a few things to clarify right here and now. No, he is not doing any kind of magic. He is an illusionist. It seems like you people got that down so far. Next, yes it is possible to do real magic. It's called black magic, is evil, and something in which I am in no way involved with or do ever wish to be invold in. Neither is Criss Angel (who's name is christos angelis, since he's Greek, like me :D) or any other magicians/illusionists. Many tricks such as this one that he does are not very hard to do. This one I have done myself, and is readily available to anyone willing to put enough effort into finding it. There, I clarified all I wanted. No offence, but some of you people really are stupid.

    I think it's funny sometimes reading what people say in these things, this trick is actually very easy, there was no camera edits and computer animation crap, I do this with people all the time, unfortunitly the camera knows his moves and you cannot see what actually goes down. I choose not to explain how it's done, but he is not the first magician to do this, Achille D'Angelo did this many years ago by touching a girl that was ten feet away, got in S**t cause she thought he was sexual harrasing her till she turned around, it's called Psychokinetic Touches, great name but fact is it's still a trick!

    "magic" happens when he askes the witness to pick a number on the table. He has to be quick and when Criss notices which number she goes for he quickly taps the attendee next to him the quantity the witness chooses. Then Criss stands back and does the tapping the shadow thing and asks the atendee what she felt.     if you get somethin like Bit Torrent - and search for Chris Angel - you can download tutorials on how to do most of his tricks - this one - he used some one with that invisible string stuff on the glass (had some one else pull it off the table - for the tapping on her back i dont remember right off hand - but for the chair - when he waves in the air - he's actually finding where the bundle of invisible string is at and if you watch the chair it goes towards him some because of the string thats attached to the walland to the back of the chair =P

    yay!!! - his tricks are all common sense stuff - BUT he's a crafty ass dude and is pretty sneaky and good at making the tricks work - like throwing a stack of cards at a windwo - and a card sticks on the opposite side - that cuz he gives the card to some one else - discracts the people - the guy sticks it on the window - and before they look at that certain spot on the window h'ell throw the deck of cards at it they will turn n look afterwords and see that one special card (written on or whatever) stickin to the opposite side of the window!!

    The chair, olive and glass are illusions by way of camera/tools. Notice that the olive is pulled out of the glass, not flicked out as he demonstrates in the shadow; as is the glass and chair. The tapping on the shoulder is simple slight of hand. As he has the girl choose the card (what was the point of this?), he taps the other on the back three times. Afterward, he asks the girl he taps what she felt, she replies. Notice his wording as he asks her the second time. He says: "ONCE AGAIN, what did you feel?" In other words, tell me again what you just told me. She does. The girl picking the card was diverted (as was the viewer) from watching him tap the other girl. Keep in mind, there is NO audience and the girls were NOT part of the act. This guy is a pro, and I take nothing away from his abilities; however, at times his illusions are too obvious.

    Its a combination of more than one techique, like trick of the mind and others, like forcing a certain low number card. It's an illusion, he's not doing what we think he's doing. At least not in the moment that we think he's doing :) He says to the first girl: after you close your eyes be very aware of your senses. That means, be aware of your senses IMMEDIATLY after you close your eyes. And she does that... But from that moment on, she has no idea what is going on, she has her eyes closed!! Then he tells to the other girl to pick a card from the table which is, intencionaly, put on her right side, so her attention is focused there and she doesnt see what's going on with the other girl. He intencionaly focuses her attention on the table with pointing his finger to the table. If you look closely you will see, that the cards are in a formation that will force a girl to pick a low number card. Cards that are closest to her are 1, 2, 3, 4.... Why you ask? O, this now is the main part. As soon as he knows the number, which needs to be low of course, because he doesnt have a lot of time, he NOW quickly taps the other girl on the shoulder 3 times. He is standing between them so the first one cant see him doing that with his other hand, farther away from her. So, "blind" girl feels these three taps. And now, he goes to tap her on her shadow, he goes and does the illusions, we think that she felt that three taps, but she felt the taps a few seconds before that :) And, remember she doesnt know what the hell is going on!! She doesnt know, he's tapping her shadow! So, when he again asks:" ONCE AGAIN (a short pause for taps) WHAT DID YOU FEEL? ; she simply thinks he's just asking her once again what did she feel the first time, like to confirm it. And she again replies: three taps on my back :)))
    There you have it, it's a beautiful illusion with a really powerful effect, and I just love it. So, dont be idiots claiming that all are actors and that kind of stupid opinions. This is really the easiest way, isnt it? Give these guys some credit! These illusion is great, it just cant be performed in a crowded room, it's only for two people. And about chair and glass... falling down when he touched it... this was just devils work, hahaha...

If I touched the rim of the glass and pushed it would fall over before it got to the end of the table but if I pushed as he did from a short space down then I could move it to the end of the table before it fell, but I had to push on the glass not the shadow.     The chair has a remote controlled "arm", about 4 inches long, on a pivot on the back of the chair. It is controlled by an offstage assistant, who makes it swing up and tap the person on the back of the shoulder.

    The chair itself is spring loaded, and can be released by the same method.

    Trust me - you don't always need complicated camera tricks when the solution is much easier!

  • LISTEN PEOPLE......

    I've tried once this thing with the shadow and the touching and THAT WAS BEFORE I HEARD ABOUT THIS SITE AND BEFORE I WATHCED THIS VIDEO. My incidet ( i like to call it that way because it scared me very much) appened 3 months ago. I was making shadow figures with my fingers one evening and i have a cactus in my room a very big one abot 40cm. and i accidentaly touched the cactus and i felt pain and I backed off on the second I got so scared I did't want to sleep in my room and the next day I threw the plant.

    if u look closely the second time he touches her shadow , when he goes to tap her 3 times for the second time , he only taps her once but the 2 next taps ..just gets close to her shoulder shadow..so its bull plus his finger goes through the glass...
