A motorcyclist jump ends bad. I don't know how it ended, but it doesn't look good.

  • How It Ended....

    Laswell, Sherman Dwayne "Butch" (Las Vegas, Nevada) - this very talented and experienced jumper died after jumping ramp to ramp over a 38 foot high pedestrian overpass in Mesquite, Nevada, March 10, 1996. The 35 mph diagonal tailwind, blowing from right to left from the rear at about 45 degrees, blew him off course and he flatlanded on black top pavement from 55 feet high. His trachea was crushed, among many other internal injuries. Paramedics took him back toward Las Vegas in the ambulance, meeting a Flight For Life helicopter next to the highway for a transfer. He died in the helicopter during the transfer.

      Who cares, he knew the risk he was taking, it was 100% his fault. No one made him do it, I personally don't care if he was jumping an overpass or flossing his ass with telephone cable when he died. He made the choice and he paid for. I hate it when ppl come onto these sites and are all like, "lets see YOU do it, he gave his life entertaining YOU." trying to make us feel guilty or something. Get your head out of your ass and wake up. I still do have feelings for the dead R.I.P.

    He went too fast, jumped too far, and landed on flat ground past the landing ramp. He should have mocked up the same ramp in another location and did practice runs, gradually extending the distance and documenting the speed, such as Mike Metzger's back flip over the Caesars Palace fountain.

      The wind was starting to gust up before Butch did the jump, causing him to drift over. At ground level it wasn't as windy, but above the pedestrian bridge connecting the casinos it was was apparently too windy as the wind swept over the casino roof top.
      Butch has done 1000's of professional stunt jumps and was well known for his 100% successfull attempted jumps. This was his 1st unsuccessfull attempt durring his entire carreer, and Im very sad to say was his last.
      RIP Butch !!!
