Real Chinese KungFu

i feel sorry for your students if you are really an instructor (i doubt that you are).
Most varieties of Kung Fu also teach proper 'form' which is mainly what this guy is doing for 80% of the video. Don't take away anything from his fighting abilities just because all he is doing is forms.

i've been in martial arts for 40 yrs and have seen MANY great demo ppl.

some are expert fighters, some aren't. you can't tell just be looking at their demos. and to say he can't fight cuz he's good at demos only shows what an idiot you are.

The correct romanization is GONGFU. Americans call it "kung fu" because of a misinterpretation of the outdated Wade-Giles method of romanization. In the official Pinyin method of romanization it is gongfu, and that's the way it has always been pronounced. Even using the Wade-Giles method, it was never pronounced "kung fu." The "k" sound is just plain wrong. To be pronounced with a "k" sound in the Wade-Giles system, it would have to be spelled "k'ung fu."

If only I had googled it before I commented. Your wise words have enlightened me and now I can walk down the street knowing full well that it is not KUNGFU but GONGFU. Imagine if I was living my day to day life thinking I was right the whole time but in reality was living a lie because I didn't know my Chinese Martial Arts trivia. It would have devastated me if I found out I was wrong when I was already in my 70s, coz then i would have told my grandchildren the wrong thing which could have harmed their intellectual growth. In China it is romanized and pronounced gongfu. Pronouncing it with a "k" sound is a Western thing, and is just plain wrong.

No disrespect intended, but if you really were a practitioner of any real martial artist (such as Shotokan), your comments to this video would be as such; 'This video displays an amazing and nimble gymnast and, at best, an amature fight coordinator. However, anyone who has studied any decent martial arts for more than one year can see that his strikes and kicks lack focus and a target and would not be useful in any real-life situation.'
