one shot one hit in this case. though if the sniper had had just an ant bite at the moment of the shot, it wouldn't have been the pistol but the dude's balls he would ahve taken out... haha. Then that guy would have said: "I wanted to end my life, not my sex life, you moron! But great shot!"

Anybody saying..
"If he wants to kill himself, why not let him" is completely ignorant. If you don't value human life that doesnt mean the cops shouldn't try anything possible to save a life. Like someone mentioned, suicide is never a rational deciion, it is made in an altered state of mind and if it can be prevented, usually doesnt return.
