Colon cancer impacts one in every twenty Americans. In this episode, our host interviews a Stage 4 cancer survivor and part-time consultant for the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA), to discuss the important work of CCA in the fight against colon cancer.
One of the programs CCA offers that helped our guest personally was CCA’s Buddy Program. The Buddy Program matches colorectal cancer survivors with new patients and caregivers. Buddies are matched based on stage of diagnosis, age, gender and geography. As someone who has been on both sides of the Buddy Program, our guest knows what a tremendous help it can be to new patients struggling to make sense of their diagnosis and their treatment options.
