      He (Juninho Permabucano) is better than David Beckham, that's for sure. He is able to produce tons of very different shots (with inside or outside foot) while David Beckham is much of a one-sided free kick taker.

      Roberto Carlos is simply one of the greatest free kick takers of all time but his glory years are probably over. Still, i'm a great fan of the Brazilian .... I will remember that fenomenal free kick against France back in 1997 forever.

      But when talking about the best free kick takers one name shines more than all of the above - SINISA MIHAJLOVIC (Serbia and Montenegro)!!! Not only that he has got as strong shot as Roberto Carlos but he can also curl them the way Juninho or Beckham can. He can shoot them straight like a torpedo or curly like a banana. He has got BY FAR the best and most diverse technique of all of them. And for one other mother, he is still producing some excellent goals from italian Serie A. Even in his mid 30's ... He has score MORE free kicks in Italian Serie A than ANY OTHER PLAYER in the history. More than legendary players like Michel Platini, Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero. And that says it all! If you proved yourself as the best free kick taker in italian Serie A, which is the hardest league in the world with the best defenders and dozens of world class goalkeepers (of which Italy was always known for), then you have nothing else to prove ...

      Just a quick reminder of one of the great things Sinisa Mihajlovic did in Serie A .... When playing for Lazio he scored 3 (!) free kick goals against Sampdoria (Mihajlovic's old club), who's goalkeeper Marchegianni was one of the top Italian goalkeepers of that time. And even such outstanding goalkeeper, who knew Mihajlovic's tricks as they played together for couple of years in Sampdoria, couldn't stop him to score three times in one single match ...

      So, it is Sinisa Mihajlovic who needs the crown not Roberto Carlos or Juninho ...

      ...mihajlovic is an absolute free kick god. he took a free kick against ireland a long time ago from the halfway line! and forced the keeper to punch the ball over!!
      I think he's actually scored more goals from free kicks than anyone in europe not just serie A.
      Carlos is nowhere near mihajlovics stature. carlos is way over-rated

      How old are you, man? 12??? The only time Brazil and France met in 1998 World Cup it was in the final where France beat Brazil 3:0!!! So, how the hell did Roberto Carlos score against France if France's sheet was clean?!?
      Goal that Roberto Carlos scored against the same opponent happend one year before the World cup (in 1997) on friendly 4 nation turnament (Brazil, France, England, Italy).
