Road debris getting stuck in the open design would destroy it pretty quick, and ejection of debris is also an issue...Michelin says the open design is critical to maintaining temps of the radial ribs, sooo...

This is all about 'making money' the Corporate Bible.
They have the technology to make vehicles that will NEVER break down, vehicles that NEVER need gas (petrol), vehicles that drive themselves, but they STOP profits so they will NEVER go into production.
I can see advantages.
(1)
In the past I have replaced car tyres due to side wall damage. If those tyres were airless tyres I would not have dumped tyres that are only part way through their useable life due to damage by foreign objects entering a side wall. (One tyre was only days old) Therefor these are better for the environment.
(2)
There will no longer be blow-outs so high speed crash due to blow out will be a thing of the past. Lives saved.
im not so sure that it will replace regular tires, because it will not be doing law enforcement any good what so ever, so this guy jacks a car and they try to road spike him, whats that going to do?
