    I think it's real, the dude was tring to hold out as long as he could, appearing macho and cool but you can see the pain building in his face. I did this to a childhood freind one time out in my grandpas garden. Said I'd pay him a dollar and have a glass of water in hand and ready. When things really started to heat up I cackled wickedly and poured out the water. He had to run a couple yards back to the water hose for relief. I did pay him his dollar though. Boy did he earn it!

      water seems to make the burning worse. the most effective method i've found seems to be milk. i've heard vinegar is also good for it.
