Kip! Arethose LR44 button cells? The ones most lasers use?

Some batteries do contain acid, i just tried this out and got some sprayed on my hand, and i think i inhaled something too i instantly got this little burn in my throat.

This acid isn't very strong though, i've had much worse on me in chem class, this one didn't even make my skin turn red and it took a while for a droplet on my finger to even start stinging. (ever so slightly)

We have that brand of batteries here in sweden, are they filled with acid or are they like yours? Anyone who knows?

i live in singapore here and i just bought one. IT WORKS! it's gotta be A-23 ENERGIZER brand thats to be for sure. i think these batteries can work for like laser pointers and stuff. or u can insert them into a sparkler bomb and it goes boom!

6 Button cells, at 3V each, produces a total of 18 Volts, not 12. Unless there's a series of resistors I'm missing somewhere, this is technically impossible. Has anyone ever tried this? Didn't think so. Oh, and I decided to break open a 12V lantern battery, too just to find there are not 32 AA's inside.

Most everyone was paying attention to the directions in this video. Those of us (including me) with the acid problem probably weren't. These are 12 volt batteries... not AA or AAA... AA's do have a form of battery acid in them (although it is fairly weak, you can and will get chem burn if you leave it on for too long.)

What most people don't realize is that most "batteries" are just battery cells, not complete batteries. A battery is a combination of battery cells.
Most battery cells (AA, AAA, C, D...) are 1.5 volts. When connected in series, such as is done with most higher voltage batteries, the total volts are added together. If you feel adventurous, you could probably take apart almost any battery that's over 1.5 volts. As with any experiment, though, proceed at your own risk.

on ebay you can get them even cheaper

working with car alarms for years (which use the 23a's) I've taken apart one of these many years ago. I would have beat you to this but I'm a little on the lazy side. Plus that's taking away from your spending on a wedding gift...........

Anyone still use Zenith Transoceanic radios on batteries? Probably not, but- They used B batteries that were 90 volts. These are actually 10 9 volt sal amonic cells, not alkaline like Kipkay shows [they are the "heavy duty" old school cells...] which a party can hack into the cardboard body that held the spent ones easoly enough. Just solder the tabs together after taking off the metal cover, in series, then slide em back into the original box. Go, Hams, Go...

These 1.5 volt button batteries (Rayovac 357 is one brand name) are VERY expensive. I have to buy them every few months, and it always irritates me. Now, to find these 12 volt batteries - haven't actually seen them before.

What I would like to know is where you are getting these batteries from? I bought a 6v Lantern Battery, tore open a 9v battery and also had a A23 battery laying around, and NONE OF THEM had watch cell batteries, or multiple other batteries (all the AA's and AAA's you talk about with the 9v & 6v batteries)

It's all about marketing. I remember a few years ago .... it was disclosed that the "disposable" contact lenses for a small portion of the price were the same exact item as the 1-week items.
