  hold the center button, then menu, ipod will reset itslef, and riught when it turns off, hold left and center and it will go to the weird menu. Hold menu and center to get out of that, and dont press anything whle you wait for the ipod to return to normal... this "hack" is what apple helpers use if your ipod malfuntions
