imagine if he said, "Yeah you will do GREAT in the real world" when they really S**k Hes saving them tons of humiliation from other ppl in the REAL world

These people ALL went through preliminaries, to get "on the show" JUST to have the "privilege" of being EVALUATED AND JUDGED by those three OBNOXIOUS CRETINS! AS I SAID , they let many of the WORST go to the "SHOW" so they can "TRASH" them and have a "biting edge" program. Please, does ANYONE agree with me? thanks...... you know l am right! That "show" is a joke, because they KNOW from the start, who the REAL TALENT IS! (again sorry to repeat myself!)

Everybody goes through the preliminary auditions. Every single person that shows up to audition for American Idol sings in front of Simon, Paula and Randy. They don't let the worst go through to audition in front of the three judges.. everybody does. The thing is, is that everybody signs a release form mentionning that Fox and American Idol can do whatever they want with the footage they have of you... therefore, if you S**k ass... you will get ridiculed. Plain and simple.

I've never heard of that (though I don't follow the show, so...).
I was under the impression that that WAS their first 'audition'.

they travel around holding auditions; thousands turn out. So, the very bad ones have already been heard, and were given false hope for their chances on TV. This gives simon a chance to use the knife he has for a tongue and cut them to shreds. I neither watch nor "follow" the show, but since it airs on Fox TV, the local Fox affiliates are always finding a way to mention (and plug) it during the evening "News"

because most of A.I.'s BeST ratings come from these episodes, where people with obviously NO talent try to sing [and/or dance even].
The producers know exactly what they're doing, it's not as if these people "accidentally" made it to the pre-finals by some miraculous fluke. If anything, they SeaRCH for these delusional "singers" so they can air them [for OUR enjoyment, of course]. ;0]

it's real and interesting. obnoxious cretins isn't really appropiate as they know the score. so really repeating yourself was a waste of time because what you said wasn't really worth saying the first time

wel said mate. these people who go on, imea, what the F**k do they think they sound like. A friend or family member shold tell them how bad they are but no they must not. So i dont blam simon because if i was sitting there i would have to have a gun to shoot every last one of these losers!! (sorry i would)

american idol or x factor is not complete without simon, i totally respect him and what he says is funny specially with his london accent

I think Simon is great, I love his put downs and his honesty. Makes good watching.

Simon is a music producer and a millionare, and he is famouse.

The judges travel around auditioning people but when the performers are in front of those three, its the first audition. They did not have to sing (or try to) for anyone else before this stage.

I think they simply let many very bad ones through so they can have their "show" of mocking and torturing the bad ones! C'mon, now, you can be SURE they recognized the talent of EVERY winner, right from day one?

That is an interesting idea...and perhaps you are right about that...but IMO, if these terrible singers belive that they are very good and diserve to be professional singers, then I'd reather watch them being humiliated at this stage then listening them later on real stage...

If they would tell them that they are good or something, they would lie - and that is even worse than telling the truth that hurts.

he's one of the world's experts in finding talent that will become pop singers. he's made himself, his company and his clients very rich; he knows what he's talking about. If anyone can tell you whether or not you have a future in the industry, its people like him. He doesn't sugar coat it, he just tells people when they're crap.

I'm sure that the only ones that make it onto TV are the ones where he's maybe a little harsh or where he thinks up some really inventive way of telling them they stink.

If i were a judge on one of those shows and i knew that someone was really crap, i'd want to tell them, not give them false hope.

Also he has a reputation as being a mean git, he has to play up to it now he's famous for it.

He's Not paid to be nice and sugar coat the truth. Keep in mind how many of these auditions they have to go through before they actually make the real show. Besides, some of these people really S**k I'm not a singer, and you'd never see me up there making an ass out of myself.

But he really does not have to be so mean... At least should not be insulted until they initiated the situations...
