In 2006, PETA documented aggressive handling and hooking of Tonka and Luna, two elephants with Ringling Bros. During 2007, the circus allegedly deemed the elephants too dangerous and unpredictable to walk and often trucks them from the train to the arena.

    There are a lot of undercover videos on elephant beating on youtube if anyone wants to see them. At the very least, circuses practice animal cruelty by dint of animal imprisonment and enslaving them to a lifetime of forced performances.
