        Any fairly intelligent person knows how to make exploding projectiles or, "Bombs". Columbine was a idiotic act done by moronic teenager's. Therefore, video's are not to blame, whether they be American's or not, it's the knowledge people gain through experience instead of sitting behind a computer screen.

      i prolly have the answer to your question Nemesis .. my guess .. is that the explosion was caused by a quick chemical reaction(exothermic reaction) because of the lack of oxygen, .. if you were to keep the bottle open with no lid but just the fuse, my guess would be that you would get a smokebomb like reaction instead of an explosion

        The explosion is cause becasue as the mixture burns heat and gasses are created. So the presssure rises in the bottle. The higher the pressure the faster the mixture burns so more gasses and heat are created faster. The hotter the gasses the larger is theri volume so they create more pressure. At some point the presure in the bottle rises to a point when the bottle fails and then all the gasses in in are release extrimly quickly and that is what causes the boom. If a mixture is burnibg fast enough it doesnt need any confinment.

      This mixture is known as whistle mix. The ratios are 7:3 for potassium chlorate and sodium benzoate. We put a little too much sodium benzoate in the mixture and that is why it smoked so much. In the right ratios much less smoke is created and it burns much faster. The explosion would be louder.
