Ever have the urge to take something you no longer want or need and crush it to bits? OfficeMax gave Denver residents the opportunity to put their past behind them today when it brought the worlds largest Rubberband Ball to town. Locals nominated objects to be squashed by the 4,594-pound, Guinness World Records-Certified Ball. Finalists were chosen for a crushing ceremony outside of Denver Pavilions. One winner received a digital camera prize package (a $519.93 value) and a pair of concert tickets to summer chill out at Red Rocks with Dierks Bentley.
Some of the items squashed by the tremendous Rubberband Ball included: a tractor, a statue and a microwave.
In addition, OfficeMax invited consumers to be photographed next to the mammoth ball - which stands more than five feet tall, with a circumference of 19 feet and is comprised of approximately 175,000 rubber bands - and visit newly renovated OfficeMax stores. The ball will also greet visitors at the taste of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Balloon Festival in Denver. For more information, visit www.officemax.com.
