u used the wrong formula. the energy of a moving object is equal to it's mass times the velocity squared, e=m(v*v). sorry no squared key. either way the plane had tons of energy to penetrate the building. if it didn't break apart and explode it probably would have gone right through.

it's F=MA, he had it right the first time. You really don't measure energy in this kind of situation. Mass of a boeing is i think 20 Tons, Acceleration is 9.8 meters per second squared. Thus the force applied to those towers can be anywhere around 8-9 million Newtons of force. Now take all that force and apply it to nose of the boeing, which is the amount of force of the initial impact.
All that means is that at 9/11, the twin towers were sand castles.
