is to reset the bios.
I don't know if it is different for different types of motherboards but usually u have to change the jumper settings from 2-3 to 1-2 for about 3 seconds and then change it back to 2-3 position.
that works too ..
have tried it :) ..
anyway nice vid. but thought the cause was pretty useless.

You are not hacking anything, just resetting the bios passphrase. No one except a nube would rely on the bios to protect their data. You can even reset the Xp password easily using a bootdisk(their is one written in linux for this). The only safe way to protect data is to encrypt the whole disk and use a long strong random passphrase of characters and nuimbers including symbols and caps etc

Now you know why they place little loop locks on cases. So wanna-be hackers cant reset the BIOS and gain access. This isnt even the real hack. Never rely on a BIOS password to secure it unless you use a lock. Only use it to secure the bios to keep from booting to a cdrom, then you can hack windows itself without ever entering the OS. Like I said, lock the case but that might not even help, I just watched a video where a kid opened up a combo lock with a pop can.
