The LiPo is an extremely hazardous battery if mishandled. Watch what happens when I overcharge one at the end! Please pay attention to the warnings for this type of battery!
You are now officially the battery expert! Thanks for another interesting battery-related video. Too bad those batteries are so dangerous.

By the godfather 005 1191419556 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGo to google and search for "the radioactive boyscout". This guy was arrested a while back for attemting to build a nuclear reactor. He was just arrested a few months ago from my home town for stealing smoke detectors from an appartment complex. But, I wouldnt recomend this. My opinion is that attempting to build a nuclear reactor should be considered treason.
By They Call Me Slev 1192063747 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBuilding a nuclear reactor? LoL! If that guy could have done it they shouldn't be arresting him they should be giving him a nicely paid job somewhere working with nuclear reactors or somethin. He should have just said it was for a school project, lol.

By TrendyWendy 1188260336 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"and no, this is not a 'hack' video, so maybe that's what you were looking for. I appreciate your comment though."
Maybe you're right. I do love your hack videos. I understand the pains of video editing, I didn't mean it looked shoddy as in the video looked bad. I just meant it seemed like you didn't have anything this week so you just recorded a battery blowing up.
Again, please don't take offense, I love your stuff. I think you're great and very creative. Besides, you still got my viewing point!
Keep up the good work. Maybe a hack will show up next time. :)
The brick for my laptop gets super hot when charging and I am not over charging it, its a brand new laptop (HP) is this dangerous??? I figured u might know.
By ***Amazing*** 1188257933 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNever store li-pos in a metal box unless ther are holes in it
It has a great risk of shortcircuit an the box might even act as a granate if the lipo explodes
I'll never use one of these!

By fishin4daze 1188304665 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThen why do they keep making then.. are the RLY cheap or somthing?
and well put together. Good job kipkay!
By stevenscorsese 1188268414 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveKipkay,
First, I love your videos. I always get excited when I see new ones come out. However, this one was not up to your standards. 22 seconds of the video was you giving warnings.
It seems like you couldn't think of anything to do, so you just put this together real fast....
Sorry, just my opinion, I still love your stuff!
Dell uses those same batteries in their laptops!
No wonder they are always going up in flames.
Nice video, only thing I'd argue with is you shouldn't store a Lipo in a metal box, if the battery shorts on the inside of the box it'll do the exact same thing. Really it should be stored in a purpose made Lipo bag or some other fire retardant non-conductor.
By m1niman 1201271622 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhy does this happen?
By ishypop 1200507184 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeall batteries have the potential to do this jeez

By mitch1970 1193961582 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removegreat safety instruction, of course and it would seem wise to show it to as many viewers as possible--but some of us--I mean, some of them--have really poor impulse control. We--they, I mean--might impulsively do the wrong kind of thing with the knowledge. Nice work, though, as always.
By Teslagirl 1192675320 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit dont matter whether its hacking or warning...still very informative and educational...you can learn a lot from his ideas...my brain has been eating them all but its limited to a certain extent...too much to absorb...Mr. Kipkay, you are not normal...aliens probably abducted you and change your brains to think of all these things...ty for the info that helps

Don't forget you have the same ones in pretta much everything that is battery-powered nowadays. Cellphones, laptops, digital cameras,...
No need to freak out though, that just proves they are safe when handled properly.
the cells are like mini explosives

By brutus 1188548504 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveCome on, you gave a list of safety instructions and then broke every one of them. I know your just trying to help but you are in no way a professional and I doubt you have a license allowing you to do this.
By entehrend 1188531829 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have seen Nickel Cadmiums do this as well. I have handled a lot of battereis, as I am an electronics technician, for about the past 40 years. We almost lost our home to a Niclel Cadmium battery in my sons toy box under his bed. Under the right conditions many types of batteries can produce unexpected and devastating results, including car batteries.
There goes $50 bucks!
By bigdogg285 1188438954 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have a toy helicopter that uses a LiPo battery. I didn't follow some of the rules... until I've saw this video. But why it doesn't get hot, or overcharged?
By henryliu007 1218575660 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat is pretty scary. Thanks for the info Kipkay!
By chamos 1216703710 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRemember our good old friend short circuit,I prefer a concrete box.(It's the safest)
By tr-derin 1216622692 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebecause concrete is a bit brittle, it will sometimes blow up, doubling the force. This occurs because the pressure inside gets too high.
