I'll show you how to get it back! For XP Pro and Vista users.
this is misleading, it only reserves 20% when its updating windows in the background.
if your computer is uptodate you have full use of your internet speed.
it would be easier to change the NETWORK settings and uncheck the QOS.
Does this limit bandwidth only when downloading updates or is it also when checking for updates? Does it say it checks once a day, or is it checking all the time? every hour? every 4 hours? Who knows? Why do I want MS to limit my bandwidth at all? If I'm updateing I want to see everything going on, I might lockup my computer and cause me to hard shutdown and I don't it in middle of update that might destroy my windows!
By FASTED88 1193804377 computer xp pro is on and work just fine with that
my second computer i upgrate to vista this work fine .
Thank you for video
Never mind whether you have XP Home or XP Pro, or whatever; that's not the important issue. The OS would only use this reserved bandwidth when it's actually downloading something from Microsoft's Update site. If there's no new updates available, then you get 100% use of your bandwidth anyways. This video makes it sound like you're limited to 80% of your available bandwidth all of the time, which is not the case at all. And when new Windows updates are available to download, you probably do want it to get at least 20% of the bandwidth, because they take a long time to download.
By rickyk2 1189728944that is true but think one windows got udate daily so is good idea t limit them
By asmin 1189811111he is running a windows vista so make sure its not only for vista
By edzeke 1188443613This only works in XP Pro does not work for Home Edition.
By rtdem 1188413393I just changed the setting. Hope that it makes a difference next time I use the computer.
