How to make an infrared night vision device. If you like, please rate and digg!
i tried this using the exact same method you demonstrated here. although the light was clearly visible when i pointed the flashlight directly at the camera, there was hardly any visible light when i pointed it elsewhere. do you need a special kind of flashlight? celophane? help please.
By lukewarm27 1203983272very nice video, I will defiantly try this! I hope you earn lots from this!
By willtx 1188743481I think the light coming from the camera's lcd might be pretty bright if its real dark out, but cool idea, just needs some modifications. keep it up
By energized 1188430077Right, the camera I used actually had the screen inside of an eye-piece which was perfect for keeping things dark.
Truth be told, the body of the flashlight actually glowed a little bit -duct tape could take care of that quickly enough.
Wow, you're even getting a good comment from kipkay...I'll have to try that to.......Thanks
By the_sorcerer 1194631207Would it work if I just used 10 sheets of blue selefane or do you need the red?
By weardo 1284943684i have a jvc hd7 camera and i have a remote that had inferred led so if i got a lot of them would it work as a light even tho my camera dose not have night mode
By =DAZZA= 1231768535My camera (Canon S3 IS) can pick up IR (I have tested it with my TV remote), but when I do this to my flashlight, it doesn't pick up anything. Have I done something wrong?
By yeahitsscotts 1228186092I cut out all the circles and put them in a small black film container and all i do is slide it on the front of my flashlight, works great with my infrared webcam
By pattyricks18 1219370363Are all digicams from the 90ies suitable for this? or only specific brands?

By Tiny Elf 1205308302I'm realy thinking about making these but i was wondering the blue and red cellaphane is that the stuff that the other bloke uses to make thermal imaging goggles in day light he uses lighting gel eg congo blue is that the same stuff cherrs
By jordanghafoor 1203714163its obviously that u can see in the dark when u r filming when u turn on the light!
By unnamed911 1203680789if it has long range it would be bettter then nite vishin bout in stores,,,
By Stevo Steevz 1198106278Do you think this would work alongside kipkay's 10$ IR Goggles? if so very cheap nite-vis lol
By WitsEnd 1196232492if anyone tried a combo of this and kipkay's IR goggles, let me know plz
By Phoeny 1199909807getting a coment from kipkay, great idea 5*
By the godfather 005 1188325636used only red and green cellophane. what you are seeing is actually blue light photo not infrared
By grouch2 1220062228The light from a light bulb gives visible light but also ultraviolet and infrared light which are not visible to the naked eye. The filter which acts like an infrared pass filter blocks the ultraviolet and blue visible light so just the "invisible" infrared light passes through. So the "invisible" light that the camera can see is actually infrared.
By abc_god 1220488632you could just skip the part about putting the colored cellophane in to block the flashlight. Just turn the flashlight on with the clear lens and you'll have "night vision," without the use of a camera too.
By RealBoingo 1193873030the cool part about this is the fact that it is invisible to the naked eye, allowing you to see what others can't.
By Omfgpie 1201148590i combined the flashlight from this video with the goggles from kipkay's infared goggle video
By couchyboy93 1188773938Nothing would happen. Kipkay's goggles allow you to view light close to the infrared spectrum, but they don't show what's not already visible to the eye..
By Funditor 1188792921You took the music from the freeware game witches lol
