- I tried that...
  and it became extra visible when I was using it in the sun to do some card spinning. If it's too black, it might become visible when it's near or touching the surface of a playing card. So don't color it too black, lightly would be good enough, otherwise don't do it at all.
  
  Remember, stretching a too far will make it shiny. Try running sand paper through the thread lightly and hopefully it will remove some shine...
