i built one of these.
the wire that u connect 2 is safe, because it has almost no amperage.
but be careful.
since i didnt close mine the internal components were still visible. when i was holding onto the wire i accidently happened to touch a capacitor.
it was essentially a giant short across my heart, the voltage feeding back into the monitor. i burned my hand and lost vision for a few seconds. true story. swear to god.
so please exercise caution if you are going to make one of these.

that capacitance in the tube has enough amperage to kill you. Just watch those fat sparks. Expire if tyou touch the fence and have low resistance to ground, like no shoes, or touching a grounded metal object. Despite the correct grounding procedure shown before pulling that anode cap, the rest is an accident waiting to happen. Ddon't re-use the old monitor for such play. It is bulky and burns a lot of electricity. Do yourself a favor and get a stun gun or an electric fence generator.

The dog could scale a 6-foot brick fence like a professional rock climber. An old TV, a few insulated ceramic posts and a big roll of wire was all it took to break him of the habit.

To this day that dog will not try climbing even the shortest of fences.

Did u know the high voltage is DC, that does not transform. If you want 100 kV, get a stun gun.
