  • I just realized

    that I never specified. I was talking about teh McLaren F1, not the SLR. The SLR is junk just like the Bugatti.
    Gordon Murray even said that after that disaster, he would never work with Mercedes again. instead he is once again employing BMW with his new car.

    Whats with that huge continuity error at the end?
    2nd run starts with the veyron on the right but halfway through the run a fade transition and the veyron is suddenly back on the left?
    Whatever the veyron still kicks slr ass!

    It was built soley to beat the land speed record.
    The McLaren wasn't going for that, rather was trying to just be a perfect drivers car and happened to beat the land speed record for a production car in the process.

    Take a look at what VW needed to use to go 10mph faster than the BMW engine in the McLaren also.

    VW - W-16 (two v-8s)
    BMW - V-12 (two inline sixes from the M3)

    VW - 1001hp
    BMW - 636hp

    VW - 922lb-ft of torque
    BMW - 691lb-ft torque

    VW - 8.0 liters
    BMW 6.3 liters

    VW - Four turbochargers
    BMW - Naturally aspirated

    BMW is clearly the superior engine maker.

      need to learn some physics my friend. Just because you post up a few stats doesn't mean anything. Had BMW been going for what VW did, they too would be using a 16cyclinder. After 150 mph, gravity and friction take over. To get that extra 100mph, 750 more horespower is need. BMW's engine is no engineer feat. Amatuer at best when compared to the Veyron. Don't post until you know what you're talking about. Kid...
