    The man had a gun, he clearly intended to end that troopers life. Deadly force is clearly authorized when in defense of yourself or others. That trooper just saved the people of Ohio a lot of money that would have paid for this assholes manslaughter trial for killing the trooper.

      We had a case in canada where the cops went to serve a warrant on a guy he opens the door shoots two cops one died not sure about the other. The other cops opened fire and killed the guy. Now for the bonus round the guy's sister goes on the news complaining the cops were trigger happy. stupidity is universal.

I am very pleased that not all people think about cops that way. Every day we risk our lives to protect the other citizens and I am proud of it.

    It is to the cop's credit he continues to try to subdue the man for a full minute after the guy tries to kill him before he finally makes the decision to shoot him. The cop delayed using lethal force long after it would have been justifiable to use in order to try and take the man without harming him. The cop probably has a wife and kids to go home to and will live with that night for the rest of his life. Thank god he went home to his family. Thank god the video clearly shows it was the last resort.

    Although we can see from the video that the police officer was justified,(and that is my opinion too), the situation must still be decided by a jury or whatever laws govern that county.
