      Yeah... You're right. At 39 years old, the nomenclature escapes me. Perimeter is used for objects that are not usually circular.

      if you are going to be so critical, you should take what you dish out. My school taught the spelling and meaning of words. If you look up circumference, you will see it defined as: "1. the outer boundary, esp. of a circular area; perimeter", and when you look up perimeter, it says: "See Synonyms at circumference". Now, for homework, you look up circumferance and tell us what you find.

      Takeabyte, thank you for the clarification on the meaning of the word perimeter. So perimeter and circumference really mean the same thing.
