    If a palm strike is preformed incorrectly it is very ineffective. If your in a street fighting situation you should always use a closed fist. I is true that you can damage your hand but if you break your hand on someone's face the fight is definatly over. If you think being bigger that your opponent if a weakness your just stupid as Al the F*g Steele. There is a reason lightweights dont fight heavyweights in the ring. a 150lbs man physically cannot beat up a 250lbs man who is willing to take a punch or two. Please do not take this morons advice you will end up getting beat senseless. Take my advice try to avoid fighting. But if you decide to fight you need to prepare yourself to loose that is the only way someone who is not a regular scrapper can build the confidence and courage to protect themself and even possible win the fight.

      Cuz if you actually had your share of fights you would know that using the palm when hitting someone in the face is safer and alot better. Thats how some of the greatest fighters punch. You probably just don't know cuz you either run like a little bitch or beat up on retarted kids. So theres my two cents, take or leave it. But this video could actually help you out in the long run

    they did a sprint test between a martial artist, world class sprinter, and a body builder. for 10 to 15 yards which was what the test was for (martial arts mag.) the body builder won every time. point allways assume a really big guy is very fast plan accordingly.

    Another good tip that wasn't mentioned yet is to know your surroundings. Don't go into an area that is known for violence unless that is what you are looking for.
    And I agree that the first step should be learn how to fight, but from a professional.

      he kicks your ass. What he's saying is actually relevant to most street fights. Most people are so pumped up with the adrenaline dump that they make these mistakes. This is hardly playground stuff, these are important fundamental know-how in street fights.
