Dear viewers, I have been answering an insane amount of questions about the cube. Its an overwhelming amount, and since I'm not getting paid its kinda a drag. I Do not mind answering your questions, its just there are so many. So I will continue to answer questions, so feel free to E-mail or AIM me. If you E-mail me, I might not get back to you right away, but I will answer them. AND PLEASE Do not ask questions if they have already been asked. PLEASE look through the many comments of questions thats I have already asked, and if your question hasn't been asked/answered send a question to my E-mail. More»
Gud work dude!....its impossible to teach, i know, but u did a great job,
By YoyoZ 1189836544 Reply Spam [+11] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeverry nicely done
By liltigarx7 1189786965 Reply Spam [+5] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAyee. That was done very well. I think I'll try it.
You have amazing fingers, by the way.
Cant wait for that Rubik's Magic tutorial!
A+ I reccomend this video to anyone. If you are learning the cube, watch this video FIRST!
I created an account with metacafe just to let you know how much you helped me. I watched several tutorial on the rubik's and you were without a doubt the best. I know you don't get money but please take pleasure in the fact that you helped a very frustrated person solve this cube and for that I'm grateful. Once I got it, I messed it up and was able to get to the last step without watching your video, but I did need help with the last step. You are the best on the web...in my opinion. You moved the cube slow and your voice was easy to follow. Take care and God Bless.

By roshiboy 1214116596 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs a Rubik's cube slover myself, I believe I have the right to make some comments. Your first layer explanation was very good, well done for that. I do the second layer a completely different way, with one ultra simple algorithim. Your way does work, however it is very round-about. I line it up on the side it's supposed to be, so that it makes a T. (I don't flip the cube upside-down.) Then, if I'm moving it to the left, I do left up, bottom towards, left up, bottom towards, left up, bottom away, left down, bottom away, left down. Also, for when there's a middle edge stuck in the wrong orientation, i just mess up a corner to bring it to the bottom, do the algorithim, fix the corner, and redo the algorithim. It might be a couple moves lonver, but it is much quicker hand motions. I dont get your last side method at all. I first solve for a yellow cross with either a backwards L or horizontal line: the L: Front right, top right, right up, top left, right down, front left. Line: Front right, right up, top right, right down, front left. Then I switch corners the same way you do. Then i do the fish thing, except sometimes you need to do the same thing with opposite direction turns. If there isn't a fish, you just do either direction until you get a fish - you can figure out patterns eventually. Finally, i switch the center edges the same way you do. I've taught many people, and I think that the way I do it is very effective. Your way is great too, but i is a little counter-productive. I tried to make a tutorial, but it didn't work out as well as yours. You did a great job, congratulations. However, i would apreciate it if you could look at my way and comment on it. Thanks!
By jk655 1203128230 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYour right, I messed up slightly in some places, but most people can solve the cube from this tutorial.
We all have our methods, people learn mine, then change slight variations to solve it according to how they feel its best comfordible.
I solve the cube slightly different from my tutorial during a few steps, it'll just happen that way.

jesus christ how do those little asian kids solve this in 10 seconds? lmao
By Fashox 1192220168 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI know, those Asian kids are beast. Some are like 5 years old and can blindfold solve it in under 12 seconds! haha
Theres just those special people out there haha
When i have completed the white section and going to solve the 2 rows there next and i get all the time it like that one missing is on other side! How can i solve that and when i try to do it like how ya show it goes wrong :(
my english is bad, I know...
I actualy don't know your problem. What I think your trying to say is when you try to get the middle top center cube it is reversed?
I'm sorry, I just don't know your problem.
Send me a picture to my E-mail and I'll be able to help you from there.
Same problem with the sound, though, see my comment on your 4x4 video. :)
By Vierotchka 1191424183 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis guy is a champion he taught me how to solve an rubiks cube, now i ca do it in less than 2 mins. Thanks
By 001louis001 1190949635 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOk, so I followed the video the first time and got it but then when I tried it again I got to the very last step but instead of having 1 full side and 3 centers mixed up I have all 4 centers mixed up. red and orange are mixed and blue and green are mixed. What do I do?
By bobertttt 1193420614 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemovePerform the algorithm on ANY SIDE, one side will fix itself.
After you've done the last algorithm, you'll be right where the video is.
You can perform the first algorithm (spinny move) on any side. Then, you should be at the fish. Solve for that, and one side will be complete.
By Crazy Cow013 1195678932 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have a big problem. Your tutorial has helped me tremendously. I can solve the cube to about 90%, however, I always run into the same problem. Your "solve for the fish" method never completely works for me. I always end up with one piece that is yellow and w/e else being in the correct row, the row with the yellow face, but flipped wrong, with the yellow side of the piece facing not up, but towards me. This is a problem I can not figure out. I really appreciate your tutorial and if you are kind enough to help me with this problem it will only be extra, I already think you're great.
~Erick
You need to do the two moves I gave you in the video at random. It will always be different everytime. The "Solve The Fish Method" is never exact, so just do those two moves at random and eventually you will get the fish.
I can get the fish in seconds because I can just look at the cube and see what moves I need to do to get the fish.
You'll get it, keep at it.
i had added a comment before about this, never saw it post, but seems when all corners are correct, but the centers are reversed, the "shortcut it seems is to do the algorythm slyy showed that he starts off with "don't know how to say this but turn the front upside down", after completing that 1 side will be completed, and then repeat that same step to finish.
By DreXor 1212743059 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis has happened several times to me following your tutorial, when solving the yellow side, and beaing near the last few algorythms, i get where all the corner peices match and the centers are on opposite sides, is there a easy way to fix that? i think the way i solved the problem before was using your parity method for the center side, ( hence messing the cude way back up), for 2 opposite edge centers, then gettting back to the L and fish
By DreXor 1212742669 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis is the best Tutorial on the web.
Thanks!
I can't believe how easy that was...I've used it 40 million times...it rocks =)
By Dragon543345 1209949359 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for explaining every probability that will be incured while solving it. It was very easy and took 6 days for me to follow the steps
By ameeta 1208707947 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI tried to explain the video into great detail so that there would be less questions for me to answer... But seeming from all these comments, I guess I didn't do a well enough job :D haha
By Slyy 1215912474 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen I am doing the fish.. I am not getting all the yellow colors.. I am getting lost there not understanding what's wrong there, but I am very happy atleast I am coming close to the solving of a rubik cube.. I spent 4 hours today to get to that point.. nice explanation there.... thank you.. but my fish is coming in a different shape and I am getting confused there.. please help....
By sreddy 1207985250 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou need to do the two moves I gave in the video at random, it will be different all the time.
Just keep doing them at random and eventually you will get the fish.
Your not doing it wrong just because it takes a few minutes, eventually you'll be able to get the fish in seconds.
Hats off dude! I dot' know if I can ever do it.. I can do only one sid easily and maximum 2 sides.. but with ur tutorial I will try and see if I can improve. Thank you!
By sreddy 1207968461 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehey thanx ive got it i didnt remember the algarythms yet but i got them on paper so thanks long plane ride commin up so ill prolly get em down then
By razzmyre 1207627331 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI wrote down the algorithms for the last parity case in my 4x4 method, whatever helps you to solve the cube works man.
if you use the jesica fridrich method wiih thecross and the corresponding colors that will cut your solve time down. for me about a minute probaly
By zspriter 1206724932 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe Jessica method is troublesome. Its very hard for many, including me. Although if you master it you'll be considered a speed cuber, I do not know the method.
All I know is I can solve it in under a minute, and its good enough for me. haha :D
i can do one in like 2-3 minutes cause of you!!
hint: combing the fridrich method(the cross) really helps! you can get the t's faster
Yesterday, I bought a cube for my ten-year-old son and made the mistake of showing him the checkerboard trick I remembered from childhood. Within minutes of buying the thing, he managed to make it into a huge mess -- trying to copy my trick. I'd never solved a cube before, and went looking for help on the web. It is now 24 hours later and my son has his new cube back intact -- thanks to your tutorial. You've done us a huge favor. :)
By cyndication 1206590285 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm glad this helped. I like hearing really positive feedback from my viewers!
By Slyy 1206650872 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeman! This is the BEST VIDEO EVER for solving a rubiks cube. Although i watched this months ago, i still want to thank you for your help. Now i can solve one in 35 seconds! THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By slyy rules 1206160244 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks man! I can't belive you made your Metacafe name SLYY RULES! I love you man hahaha
Your welcome
And 35 Seconds? Thats faster than me! I didn't think it could be done in 35 seconds using my method
ANYWAY good job and keep up the work man.
you could complete the white side and the "T' at the same time!
By jepoy733 1206082850 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou could do this, its slightly more difficult because you have to think ahead a few moves, but if you can master it, you could shave off a good 20 seconds from your solve.
By Slyy 1215912643 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removefor me, what you have done is the more difficult way in solving...
there is one easy way to solve to it in youtube....
and about the algorithms, just don't mind it...focus on the steps just like i did
no offense to you slyy...
I realize we all have our way of solving things, I made this tutorial to be extremley simple, and gave algorithm steps for people to like to be even more visual.
By Slyy 1215912573 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou algarithums screded me up alot
when do u use the two algarithums?
By zspriter 1203369526 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGreat vid :D
I've been using your method for a few weeks now, just solving the cubes whenever I'm bored and I found something... a special situation where, after the top face has been solved, the rest doesn't work... it just keeps on repeating itself... still don't know how to get out of it yet...
hey i was just wondering. on the step after you make the T, and you are trying to fill in the center edges pieces, once you have moved the appropiate color into that slot, and then you have to find somewhere where it doesnt work to put the white back up, um, what do u do if there is nowhere that does not fit, and all of them work?
By cghunting 1199413754 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIts not 100% in dept but after messing around with the algorythms it all makes sense, so all you other people stuck on this, mess around with the algorythm, take it step by step, practice each step! I somehow wasn't that impressed with finishing it...
By 20millon 1198936807 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks dude, That helped a lot, now I can solve a rubiks cube in almost 1:30seconds! By the way, did you get the algorithims yourself? Or got them from someone else, Just wondering, you dont need to answer. Oh and another non answer needed question, whats the the red stuff on your hand?
By JmcJason 1198184301 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat do you do if you dont have the little L shape on the yellow side?
By OREO1234 1197562547 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTime to solve first rubik's cube - about 27 years!
Time to solve after this guy's help - about 20 mins!
Thanks man, I have never been able to work this out, but your instructions are excellent and I can finally rest easy knowing I can solve the bloody thing!
Hi, Thanks for such a good tutorial. I have been trying to get fish but not able to get it. On what side the first move should start to get fish? I tried a lot of times but not able to get it.
By rajankashyap 1197183922 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI stumbled across this tutorial a few days ago and bought my first Rubik's Cube.
I've solved it multiple times and am trying to get my time under 5 minutes ;)
Where can one buy the 2x2 cube and the 4x4 cube?

never felt so indebted to someone i do not know. every video i watched before this was crap - you are truly a legend
By the_woug 1196286171 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat was kinky.
I don't know what indebted means but it sounds good lol
Thanks, I guess I am a legend.
i can solve the cube now thanks 2 u! Btw where did u get that method?
By Theeggnogmaster 1196100215 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI kinda did the first half by myself, I got help with the fish part though and everything after that.
By Slyy 1196621147 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen do you use the 2 algorithms shown to solve the yellow side? For example, i understand that using the "spinny move" after having the fish will give you the completed yellow side, but when else would you use it and when do u use the second algorithm? Also, what side of the cube should face you when using the second 1?
By NxtDblaine 1196019749 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell, you have to use the two algorithms to get the yellow side. You'll have to do the two algorithms at random and as for the other question, I think I shown it in the Video.
By Slyy 1196621110 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou did a great job explaining some moves, but there really isn't a technique for this...its just common sense ;)
By brianhuangbh 1195921797 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI embeded some of your video on

Ok, yeah... so I got to 17:35 in your vid and there's no yellow to either the left or right.
But the "Fish" is kinda, a fish.well, this is what the top looks like
YYG
YYY
YYO Y=yellow G=green O=orange
so, yeah. There's an extra peice on the top so I'm thinking thats what the left/right peice is, I'll try to get it down but help would be greatly appreaciated
Hold your cube so that its facing you (So that the two yellow pieces that are on the front are facing you)
And perform the spinny move on any side where the yellow piece is.
That should get you to the fish I think, I don't remember though.
I started with a Yankee Rubik's Cube, since it is the only one i have.
when i finished one side, the first row of the T is all done already. However, i don't know how to get the middle piece of the second row of the T, since i don't recall u having to do it.
Go back in the video. It is there.
