This is a Carbon zinc lantern battery. Each one of these cells = about 1/7 the capacity of a standard alkaline AA. This pack is most likely 4 groups of 8 cells (connected in parallel to give 3000mAh). 1 Energizer AA is 2850mAh. It is a good concept, but probably won't save money in the long run

How could you do this. $7.50 garbaged. You sure didn't earn the money they paid you. I should have known if it sounds to good to be true it is usually just that. This sure came under this saying. I used the exact same brand of battery and just got 4 large 1.5v batteries. I have a picture in my photos on flickr. username: "the.arctic"

I just went and bought a 6volt battery, did everything, had to take a hacksaw to the F**king thing, but I finally got the top off and I got pwned. There was nothing than 4 crappy c cells inside. no bounty of glorious AA's, just some useless flashlight batteries.

Doesn't work with the vast majority of the 6V Batteries.

I bought a Duracell alkaline 6v, opened it and found I was the proud owner of 4 D cell batterys. I paid 7.99 at Batterys plus for the 6 volt battery so I got gipped.

if you now open up one of the AA batterys you will get 4 mini batterys lol work that out

Pulled a new 4.99 RS basic (NON alkaline) and on the OUTSIDE it looks almost exactly like the one in the movie.

Inside, welp its 4 long D size batteries. Yep, take a D size battery and lengthen it (its length is the full heighth of the 6v battery) and you have it.

Sorry, not gonna tear apart a 11.99 alkaline battery. Its got a metal case which I think would be easier but don't want to burn 12 bux.

I just tried this on a battery I bought from Wilkinson's in the UK for £2 and it has 8 C batteries instead.

i opened mine..yellow 6v from home depot...it has 4 LONG Size D batteries....not AA's . maybe only certain brands have AA's

I sent this to my buddy and he bought a 9 volt battery at the dollar store.All it had inside were these long D cells.If your going to try this,try it on a cheap battery first.

you should warn people that the batteries found inside of a 6v battery do not have the same protective lining around them which helps reduce leaking and damage to equipment. But again, good video.

Damn, I expecting the motherload of AA batterries when I tried this on my car's battery, but boy was I surprised to find out otherwise!!

It's amazing what people will believe these days. First off, this is from GAGFILMS.com. They saw Kipkay's video and decided to make this spoof. They are not going to admit it's fake, look at the money they are making. It's already been proven fake all over the net. The producers are laughing their butts off, almost making 2k on this, while people are believing them and are out their 5$.

Do more research before you believe anything on the internet. Especially when the first thing you see is gagfilms...

Bought a 6V Energizer lantern battery last night and it won't work with them. Found 4 batteries inside about 5 inches long and about the same diameter as a C cell battery. I guess Energizer has gotten wise to the hack.

This is obviously a gaffe. If you look at the video when the top is removed you can see that the battries do not fit in the case and that the case is deformed by having the batteries stuffed in. In addition when the batteries are dumped you can see where the labels have been removed from the AA batteries.

I got two 6 volt lantern batteries from Radio Shack and all they contained was 4 D's in two different batteries...

Be careful, some Lantern Batteries have 4 D-Cells and not the 32 AA's as advertised.
Probably need to make sure the battery looks exactly like in the picture.

Got a Eveready 6v battery for $2.28 and got 4 tall d cells. I bet Energier is the same.

The Battery 0.5 taller that other D cell. So droped them in a D Cell Flashlight with a ball of foil.

I bought myself a 6v Lamp battery, opened it up, and got 4 D batteries. I suppose this is because I didn't get heavy duty? It was Duracell brand. I'll look for that exact one next time. I still made a profit, 4 D batteries for 4 bucks is just fine with me.

not on Eveready "Classic" batteries. Tried this last night. After finally getting the top of the battery off, I was dissapointed to find four batteries of an unknown size inside. They were about the diameter of a "C" battery, but longer. Oh well.

I opened up a 6 volt I had laying around and found not 32 AA batteries, but 4 D size batteries!!! WTF? What brand of battery uses 32 AA's?

are 1.5V each. If that lantern is 6V it would mean that you need to stack the AA batteries vertically four times (in series). It doesn't look like so to me. So either this is fake or those AA batteries are 3V instead of 1.5V (stacking them in 2 layers to make 6V). 3V might burn out some electronic devices that are designed for 1.5V.

So...my one uncle sent this around as a chain letter to practically everyone in my family...he thought it was real.

This is stupid. You can buy a pack of 4 Eneloop rechargeable AA batteries for $12 and recharge them 1000 times. That's 3/10 of one cent per use. Now that is a real deal - stop using disposable batteries, they trash the planet and are a waste of money.

Alkaline batteries are always 1.5 volts.
Nickle Metal Hydride batteries are always around 1.2-1.25 volts.
Lithium are 1.5 to 3 volts.

You put them together in series to make the voltage you want. In this case 4 "F" Size batteries to make 6 volts.

Imagine the complicated wiring it would take to put 8 AAA's in parallel, then 4 sets of 8 in series?

This is a load of BS. If you go and buy one of these (which I did) all you find are four cylinders slightly longer than D size batteries. All he wants is money, and thats exactly what he got from those of you who believed him.

Now why would they use 32 1.5 volt batteries to get 6 volts. Like some have said, makes more sense to use 4 D's at 1.5 volts. Nah, don't believe this one.

All you need to do is notice that Gagfilms made this video for comedic purposes to make fun of Kipkays real battery hacks, it's not practical for 32 AA batteries to power one of these, pretty funny joke though.

Now does anyone remember an old infomercial that sold a batery adapter kit. It basicly was a bunch of small tubes with some type of gizmo that would let you take a small battery and use it for a larger task. I.e. Use a AA or AAA in place of a C or D battery.

it would be a voltage of 48. not 6. athough, the other guys video only has 4 large cells in them. which would equal 6V. and they are both heavy duty batteries.
