I bought that exact batter and found just 4 big D lookin batteries inside. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

      By Maverick22 1191112341
    • I did the same thing

I open an Eveready heavy duty battery of that size and found the same thing: four long "D" type batteries. They were the same diameter as a "D", but twice as long. I wonder what brand has the "AA" 's?

      By oniard 1191215259
    • Might depend on Brand

It didnt work for me ether, i got 4 really massive batterys that dont fit into anything.

    • Hack again

if you hack those big batteries again you will probably get what you are looking for. Don't give up, its a cheap trick from the battery makers.

Is the voltage the same? Are those little ones 1.5v and last as long as normal energizer/duracell AA batteries?

      By FoxMcWeezer 1190272627
    • Yes. the voltage is the same as

      standard AA.

      By rafflorida 1190323423
    • yes all aa batteries are 1.5 volts

but they vary in milliamp hours (mah). 2000 is a good battery but i have seen them as low as 250 mah's, so there may be no use getting the 32 batteries if they last minutes where other batteries last hours

    • 1$ aa's

If you want the bigest # of aa's you cab get them at most dollar stores for 4 for 1$ or then 20 for 5$. Ive seen them at places like big lots for a 36 pack for 5.99 also. Course these cheap batteries dont last to long.

    • Think About It

It Takes 32 of them AA battery's to make 6 volts, and the original a battery's are 1.5 volts. So 4 original battery's are 6 volts, witch means that the 32 betters have low voltage. sorry Im no electrition

      By realmzzz 1190137593
    • Not quite

batteries wired in parallel do not add voltage, they add amperage. 1.5x4=6volts. That means if you wired 8 of them in parallel and wired each set of 8 in series, you'd get 6volts with 8 times the amps of a single AA battery.

      By Thaddio 1190139588
    • You're are an idiot

Think about it, it is a series-parallel. There could be 4 branches connected in series, that have 8 batteries in each (8 x 4=32) connected in parallel (voltage doesn't add up, current does), then the 4 branches are connected in series (so 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5=6, wow). Also, witch is like someone who rides on a broom, school is your friend.

  • 32 of these = about 4 AAs

This is a Carbon zinc lantern battery. Each one of these cells = about 1/7 the capacity of a standard alkaline AA. This pack is most likely 4 groups of 8 cells (connected in parallel to give 3000mAh). 1 Energizer AA is 2850mAh. It is a good concept, but probably won't save money in the long run

  • 6 Volt battery surprise is bad surprise

How could you do this. $7.50 garbaged. You sure didn't earn the money they paid you. I should have known if it sounds to good to be true it is usually just that. This sure came under this saying. OK, I got duped! I know I am not alone in the boat though and the boat is probably way too full! Live & learn!!

    By Dobek9 1191985214
  • It's fake.

  • CRAP!

I just went and bought a 6volt battery, did everything, had to take a hacksaw to the F**king thing, but I finally got the top off and I got pwned. There was nothing than 4 crappy c cells inside. no bounty of glorious AA's, just some useless flashlight batteries.

I bought a Duracell alkaline 6v, opened it and found I was the proud owner of 4 D cell batterys. I paid 7.99 at Batterys plus for the 6 volt battery so I got gipped.

  • RS 4.99 off the shelf is NOT AA

Pulled a new 4.99 RS basic (NON alkaline) and on the OUTSIDE it looks almost exactly like the one in the movie.

Inside, welp its 4 long D size batteries. Yep, take a D size battery and lengthen it (its length is the full heighth of the 6v battery) and you have it.

Sorry, not gonna tear apart a 11.99 alkaline battery. Its got a metal case which I think would be easier but don't want to burn 12 bux.

    By junkmail007 1190150839
    • Yeah....

I actually tried with a new brand yesterday and came across the same thing! 4 D's. I think you're right, must be certain brands.

  • This doesn't always work

I sent this to my buddy and he bought a 9 volt battery at the dollar store. All it had inside were these long D cells. If your going to try this, try it on a cheap battery first.

    By PeepingTim 1192033304
  • Good video, but...

you should warn people that the batteries found inside of a 6v battery do not have the same protective lining around them which helps reduce leaking and damage to equipment. But again, good video.

  • Great Job Guys - On This Fake Video

It's amazing what people will believe these days. First off, this is from GAGFILMS.com. They saw Kipkay's video and decided to make this spoof. They are not going to admit it's fake, look at the money they are making. It's already been proven fake all over the net. The producers are laughing their butts off, almost making 2k on this, while people are believing them and are out their 5$.

Do more research before you believe anything on the internet. Especially when the first thing you see is gagfilms...

Have to give props to gagfilms though, outsanding job making money on this!

  • Don't Try With Energizer Battery's

Bought a 6V Energizer lantern battery last night and it won't work with them. Found 4 batteries inside about 5 inches long and about the same diameter as a C cell battery. I guess Energizer has gotten wise to the hack.

    By cpnpicard1 1190643601
  • It's a gaffe

This is obviously a gaffe. If you look at the video when the top is removed you can see that the battries do not fit in the case and that the case is deformed by having the batteries stuffed in. In addition when the batteries are dumped you can see where the labels have been removed from the AA batteries.

  • Got 4 1.5d cells

Got a Eveready 6v battery for $2.28 and got 4 tall d cells. I bet Energier is the same.

The Battery 0.5 taller that other D cell. So droped them in a D Cell Flashlight with a ball of foil.

    By themeatloaf 1190350857
  • Nice

I bought myself a 6v Lamp battery, opened it up, and got 4 D batteries. I suppose this is because I didn't get heavy duty? It was Duracell brand. I'll look for that exact one next time. I still made a profit, 4 D batteries for 4 bucks is just fine with me.

    By SwitchBlade1572 1190348474

  • Except...

not on Eveready "Classic" batteries. Tried this last night. After finally getting the top of the battery off, I was dissapointed to find four batteries of an unknown size inside. They were about the diameter of a "C" battery, but longer. Oh well.

  • normal AA batteries

are 1.5V each. If that lantern is 6V it would mean that you need to stack the AA batteries vertically four times (in series). It doesn't look like so to me. So either this is fake or those AA batteries are 3V instead of 1.5V (stacking them in 2 layers to make 6V). 3V might burn out some electronic devices that are designed for 1.5V.

This is stupid. You can buy a pack of 4 Eneloop rechargeable AA batteries for $12 and recharge them 1000 times. That's 3/10 of one cent per use. Now that is a real deal - stop using disposable batteries, they trash the planet and are a waste of money.

  • Voltages and info, can't be...

Alkaline batteries are always 1.5 volts.
Nickle Metal Hydride batteries are always around 1.2-1.25 volts.
Lithium are 1.5 to 3 volts.

You put them together in series to make the voltage you want. In this case 4 "F" Size batteries to make 6 volts.

Imagine the complicated wiring it would take to put 8 AAA's in parallel, then 4 sets of 8 in series?

Where's the wiring in this video?

    Hoax!

I bought a 6 volt battery opened it up and
found 4 batteries about the diameter of a
" C " cell battery and about the length of 2
of them not the AA batteries I expected . I
bought a Rayovac Industrial battery , if there is a certain brand I should buy please tell me what brand works .
    Thanks !!!

  • Bunch of S**t !

Wtf??? I went to home depot and bought of eveready heavy duty battery and I also got the 4 weird looking D batteries in it. Damn I got pissed!

  • NOT SO WITH ALL BATTERIES

I BOUGHT A CHEAP 6 VOLT JUST TO SEE IF IT WAS TRUE, MAYBE WITH YOURS BUT MINE HAD 4 D CELLS SIZE ABOUT THE LENGH OF THE MAIN 6 VOLT, MIGHT WORK AS 2 D'S IN A FLASHLIGHT

  • It was made by Gagfilms people = GAG

All you need to do is notice that Gagfilms made this video for comedic purposes to make fun of Kipkays real battery hacks, it's not practical for 32 AA batteries to power one of these, pretty funny joke though.

  • HACK NOT FOR ENERGIZER 6V's

I tried this hack with an Energizer 6V latern battery, no AA's inside, instead it has 4 oversized cells, similar in width to a C cell, but twice as long.. I'm sure it works with the cheapo brands only...

  • It didn't work for me

I opened the case and a bunch of AA T**s fell out.

    By Huh, what? 1192308971
  • I didn't get AA batteries.

  • $9 for 4 duracel D bateries

Freakin duracel!! I paid $9.00 Just to end up with 4 standard D bats. Now they are the exact same as what you would by off the shelf. But still S**ks .

Now does anyone remember an old infomercial that sold a batery adapter kit. It basicly was a bunch of small tubes with some type of gizmo that would let you take a small battery and use it for a larger task. I.e. Use a AA or AAA in place of a C or D battery.

  • If there really is 32 AA's....

it would be a voltage of 48. not 6. athough, the other guys video only has 4 large cells in them. which would equal 6V. and they are both heavy duty batteries.
