    This won't protect you against hackers, they use programs similar to prompt to see your files, can you make it invisible on there genuis? All this will do is protect your computer from your little sister.

    This is a stupid idea. You can hide all the folders in this way. With de Shell I can see all your folders even if his name is alt 0160, you can't see the folder in windows explorer but hackers always will use the shell and see the folderd. Moreover if the folder has this name it's probably that the hacker look into the folder. It isn´t a great idea. Use a security system to block hackers attack.

      It will work in all versions of windows. The only unique thing about XP and Vista is the fact that the icons do what they do, and you can see the wallpaper through them like you can. If you can remember Windows 98? The text under the icons always have little boxes around them... In that case, it is not possible.

    • How it's done...

      You need to hold in alt key, and type the numbers on the number pad on the right hand side of the keyboard. Once you let go of the alt key it happens. It's called asci or something like that.

    if you go to the desktop through the directory everything is still visible. Hackers dont look at the same desktop you see, they go directly for the win32 and other system files :p
