  • Title.

Well if you do drink diet you are only poisoning yourself. The sweetener in diet sodas is aspartame, which when digested is embalming fluid.

  • hmmm..

something inside a sealed container reacts to weight overall. not the buoyancy of the substance inside. if you put 500ml of oil inside a sealed bag , it would sink ... but oil alone floats...

basicly i think diet coke is more carbonated,
so there is more air in there and it makes the can float .
used to pick orders for super markets i never realy cared if i had to pick 8 boxes of 2ltr (6 bottles per box) diet coke but the red ones seemed more of a hassle. now its sort of makes sense .
its either that or the fact there was allways allot more normal cokes than diets .

but yeh thats my theory higher carbonation

    • You make a great point

I was under the impression that the carbonation is in a carbonic acid form H2CO3 (liquidated co2?) and for the most part is only slightly heavier than water. Most likely there is a bigger bubble of gas in the Diet Coke than the regular coke. As I said above a bigger sample is needed.
