  • It works......

I can say it works because I have the marks to prove it. My son wanted to try this for his 6th grade science project. It was not easy because we had to get the magnets the right size and width. The copper wire has to be real, anything else will just stick to the magnets. Took us 4weeks to get it just right. He got sec place.

    • it works, but how you build it?

You say that it takes 4 week to get it work. What are the rules? I have 4(20x15)+3(10x2) Nd disc magnets, but i cannot realize the good positions of them. I made everything same as in video but ... Can you tell us your experience?

  • almost fooled me

until I really noticed the way it was swinging. looks like its on string. I tried to believe again that it was magnet, but when he set the board on top, the object raised slightly as if he tightened the string holding it. nice try though!

  • It's fake!

It's fake! I've tried it many time.

    • really

did you do it right all magnets must be same poles eg. all must be north or all must be positive if not it will ruin it

  • FAKE * DOES NOT WORK

I figuer out how he puld it off. he's using a thin line of nylon and each time he cuts away from the camra. watch how he lays on top of bowl a peace of sheetrock, he still can pull the nylon out of view.I tryed this levitation methed many times & DOES NOT WORK!

  • Wow...

Look nice...it's a beatiful fakes ever made...nice faking huhuhu

  • HOAX - Here's the science...

Magnetic levitation operates in two ways- free suspension and constrained. Constrained is how the maglev works. It works by preventing the levitated object from physically flipping it's poles.

To levitate a magnet freely you have to use a special high-temp superconductor cooled with liquid nitrogen. The magnet induces an current on the surface of the conductor which in turn generates an equal magnetic field of the same polarity (...and like fields repel). This way- the magnet's orientation is irrelevant and levitation can persist unconstrained.

  • magician's invisible thread

i can do a better job without magnets. don't waste your money buying magnets, just buy some invisible thread and magicians wax (a tiny glob is used to stick the thread to anything) at your local magic store.

good hoax, if people had not spent money trying to do it.

  • So fake...

U having fun, wasting your time deceiving the noobs?

    You're an idiot.

  • wire?

does the copper wire have to be bare, or can it have the insulating cover

    By jjamesjr1220 1207280998
    • works better bare

it can bu insulated but stability is quesionable in this situation

      By kojack442 1264324809
  • how to

Hi, I've tried it but with non luck, could you
better describe the geometry of the system (distances between magnets, weight of magnets, etc, etc)

    Bye

    By zuliani71 1229725655
  • hmmmm

i just dont see how it remains stable...
tell us what the copper is for please.

    By spagnot 1225163207
    • hey

the copper is to keep it stable

  • Great vid !

I've got to try that! 5**

  • I want that magnet

Where can get one of those? cool 5*

    By ridzariz67 1197990256
    • nyodymium magnets

these are extremely powerful magnets also referred to by slackjaws as earth magnets

      By kojack442 1264325106
  • without the foil?

is the aluminum foil critical for this to work?

    By Mrfuser 1195695201
    • yes

if you dont have it it will likely flip over raming into the bottom of vase or watever you use

      By kojack442 1264325020
  • Very Cool

Just have to make one. Nice work

  • not nesasary

the bowl is not nessasary or tin foil p.s.how can i get those square magnets and neodyum magnets?
