I've made the "Ultimative COLORED Smoke Bomb" after the Recipe of shootingeggs, here is the final result, no COLOR and no very thick smoke but a very high column of smoke, also a very bright bonfire.

    I have made 5 batches of the shootingegg recipe and have had NO color. In all, I have used 2 kilos of potassium nitrate. I made this last batch using 3 packs (about 3.5 ounces) of Rit powdered dye, that was a lot! It still yielded the now familiar white smoke. I have to conclude that short of some special dye, this recipe is a bust and a hoax. I challenge shooting egg to supply the maker of the dye.

    Worked fine for me, sans the color. I was too lazy to go buy the dye.

    I did get an immense profusion of smoke, however. And the ol' saltpeter n' sugar recipe is tried and true. It's just the color that doesn't work so well.
