  • A BETTER WAY

U S**k dude .. waste of time... u can use Ophcrack or u can press ctrl alt del twice and write in user administrator and thats it !!!! safe mode is useful for other hacks but not for this one

  • Half Truth

This will only work if your "Friend" has not configured an Admin password otherwise useing the "at" command is the best bet

  • lol ..

yea .. if the person is DUM enough not to set an admin pass while installing the os in the first place ... : \ anywayz ... it might work on the computers of kids and teens these days ... who probably dont even have basic security understanding & are the same people who get infected by virus and get hacked .. lol

  • I also know some methods.

If you forget the administrator’s password but still can log on Windows with other user names that have administrative privileges, you may follow the instructions below:

Right click the computer icon on your desktop, select Manage, find Local Users and Groups, unfold Users folder, right click Administrator, click Set password… in the menu comes up. Click Proceed in the dialog, in the pop-up, enter a New Password and confirm it. Your administrator’s password is successfully reset.

Guest account may help to log onto Windows, but it has no privilege for you to do the above to reset the administrator’s password.

If you forgot all user passwords and failed to log onto Windows, there is no other way but to format the OS and reinstall Windows, or resort to sort of software tools to remove the password and log onto Windows. These programs cost some bucks, but are worthy and better than to reinstall the OS causing consequences. The most popular programs are Windows Password Reset, Ophcrack, Active Password Changer, PC Login Now, etc. Generally, these programs are easy to use though turn out to be a scary command prompt to newbie. But do relax and you can fully manipulate. Let’s take Windows Password Reset 6.0 for example. You prepare a blank CD, burn the program onto the CD, boot the locked computer from the CD, come to initiate the program, locate the user name, and proceed to remove its password – all are at ease.

  • Pros and Cons

Well i will first point out that the safe mode way is by far quicker. But the Crl +alt+del is completely undetectable. Since if you did erase password. you would have no way of resetting it to avoid being caught. However if a virus has done so the safe mode way can perminetly shunt it. :)

  • The easiest way!! :-)

U dbt need to go to safe mode to do that. U simply :

    Ctrl+Alt+Del
ull be prompt the user name of the user

replace it with administrator n then login

Of course if the admin a/c has no password!! Hahaha

    Its easier !!!

  • Basically your just doing the same thing

as if you were to pres ctrl+alt+del twice and type administrator. Besides if your "friend" is smart his password protected account will be that account.

By the way, I like the fight club reference, that is a kick ass movie.

  • in one condition

That will work under one condition, if the "friend" didn't put a password for the Admin account you can do it only.

  • that suk

it is the very stupid hacking

By xemp 1192507179 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
  • Thats not a hack.

That is a vulnerability. because windows installs with the admin unprotected by default. this can easily be changed by logging in and setting a pass on it in safe mode. That however does not stop popular free software boot disks that can change the pass to a default. but thats just stupid. a real hack goes un-noticed. im not telling you how to do an actual bypass but i will say that you need a good physical lock on your box to protect the bios and jumpers along with a proper boot device order and pass protection provided by your bios at the user and admin levels before windows ever loads. with FRIENDS like you , i dont think that is over reacting.

  • Sigh...

Don't you hate it when you try and break into someone else's computer and the only way in is safe mode?!

How insensitive of that person to use password protection! I hate the 90's (correction?)!

  • what a crack head

what if your friend had set a password for administrator?

By hn1983 1190823556 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • As any savvy person should...

HE forgot to mention only idiots will be caught by this because any smart person will change the administrator account password on their PC or completely remove or rename the account altogether...

By BlackLotusNet 1190867513 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
  • No need for safe mode

At the login screen you can press ctrl-alt-del twice quickly and it will bring up a username/password logon. This may only be for XP pro, though.

And yes, this assumes that the administrator account does not have a password, and isn't renamed or removed.

Download Hiren's boot cd for a lot of useful tools, including an administrator password reset.

  • Cheap idea!

Everybody already knows all this you think is 'hacking'. Are you new to the win XP OS ? Supposse the system administrator had put a password ? You see how naive your clip is! i'd give it 0.5 out of 10

Good to see the mature way you accepted the correction. We can all make mistakes, but we don't always accept criticism and learn from them.
