    there are several hints that shows it is a prank
    first of all nobody has the guts to stand in the line of fire of an assault rifle.. let alone hold a target to be shot at
    second the blood is too saturated in color..
    third the bullet impact isn't powerful enough when it hit the dirt. meaning it is something else maybe a sling or something.. i know because used those rounds in a similar situation...
    fourth the sound of the shots fired arent loud enough...

    Not sure if this is real or staged. After the first shot the afghan manually chambers another round. Necessary if using blanks, not necessary if using live rounds. On second shot you can see the muzzle of the weapon and there is virtually no recoil. Trust me, AK's kick.

    However, the american commentator's reaction to his soldier getting hit seems real. And you do see dirt fly on the first shot.

    the sad point is, as anyone who has served in the army can vouch for, it's troublingly easy to believe someone would actually do that. they have idiots in the army as well.

    I have been thinking of joining, but that sort of thing will really make you think twice. One miss was not enough. They had the guy shoot twice. The first shot was not even on the "paper." These guys obviously don't understand or respect a rifle like they should. Plus if they really wanted to test the plate they can prop it up on a stick or a rock and fire at it from close range. My 10 year old brother would be able to figure out a better way to test it. And who the hell is the tard they picked to shoot. He obviously wouldn't qualify on an army rifle range. And I’m sure there has got to be an American in the area that can shoot 40 out of 40.


    There is so much stupidity on this site it is imposable to speak to it all.

    They are 99% probably not Special Forces - maybe a ranger would be this dumb. I can't catch a unit patch though.

    It may be fake - I hope it is. But it looks real to me. If you think his body would be thrown back from a leg shot your a retard. If you think his leg would be thrown back look again - it is pushed back before he buckles over. The possibility that this is just staged is good - I hope so. But the reactions of the soldiers make me think it may be real. The o shit from the one soldier, and the laughing sound like they are responding to a real situation and are not staged, but they easily could be staged.

    • AK 47 and a note to Caution

      Debating the accuracy of "the ak 47" is dumb unless you are talking about a specific rifle. In general the AK 47 is considered to be marginally less accurate than an M-16 But there are plenty of accurate AKs and there are ways to make them more accurate. And there are plenty of M-16s that can't shoot for shit. There is probably a more broad spectrum in accuracy for the M-4. If you are talking about that rifle in the video, it looks like it is probably accurate enough to hit a plate at 50m. Notice that the bullet strikes correspond nicely to the movement of the soldiers. The rifle is clearly not zeroed to the soldier using it - or he is not using the 4 marksmanship fundamentals. (Or both...) I believe it is probably just the zero though because if he were not a good shot a right handed shooter would most likely be missing high and right.

      The meaning or purpose to being a soldier isn't in the war or the commanders. I am convinced that our government (Civilian leadership) and our media is trying to kill us, as well as the insurgents we naturally face. The real meaning in being a soldier is about the soldiers beside you. Whatever happens we won't abandon each other. This is the real meaning of being a soldier no matter what war it is. It is up to an intelligent voting populace to elect wise leaders. Do your part next election. And whatever happens we will still be here holding the line. But realize, we don’t pick the line and we don’t chose the mission. We are here to serve.       any weapon made with stamped metal parts is going to be less accurate than a real machined rifle. M-i6s are quality machined weapons and AK's are just shabbily put together stamped out metal parts, and the design is as the name specifies from 1947, not exactly a moder design ( nearly 60 years old ) But there is a country that makes an AK-47 out of real machined parts and not stamped steel and those are pretty good guns, cant remember right now, maybe israel, but dont mock me cause I am just throwing it out there.

      Here is some info on the AK. The info makes it sound like only less important parts were made out of stamped steel in later AKM models.

      I'm no gunsmith - not even close. But, wouldn't it be hard to stamp some of the parts for a riffle? I would think the barrel especially would need to be machined.

      Also, don't diss it for being old. Many Americans still love the 1911 design. That thing came from WW1. And there are plenty of people who would rather carry the older M14 over the M4 or M16.

      The Limitations and Remarks section of the web page above are interesting. Bottom line is there is no reason why that rifle could not have hit a ballistic plate from that distance.

    Ok. So I've seen comments about the legitimacy of this video and you ARE an idiot to question it's authenticity. That soldier was hit. And someone was laughing? Shoot that asshole now! Whoever authorized this demo should have his Chevrons(most likely) or brass(not as likely) pulled and then be immediately Court Martialed. I would have shot the guy in charge myself if he even resisted punishment. This is the worst display of leadership I have EVER seen or heard about for that matter!! These are the kind of Soldiers running our military? So look at the physical evidence. The first shot was down(A LOT) and to the left facing the target. After that, they should have put a stop the their exercise. That particular rifle should not have been used for the second. Who knows was kind of shape that rifle was in. Neglected firearm maintanance? Improper sight adjustment? A poor marksman either way. Holy shit! Let an Expert qualified rifleman of our forces take the shot with a weapon tetsed for accuracy. Like sighting in a rifle scope. If you haven't aligned it, the cross hairs don't mean shit! So blame the moron who came up with this idea? No. Blame the DMF's that went along with it. The soldier who was holding the shield is obviously the dumbest. Unless he was trying anything to come home. In that case, he would be the smartest. He was holding the Frickin thing above his head! If all he wanted to do was come home, he wouldn't have agreed to this. So, he is, the dumbest soldier I have ever seen! The next time someone thinks up a hair brain idea like this, somebody please make an example of this and them. Do you think our suppliers havn't tested the armor, or any of our other equipment vigorously? They aren't going to send our warriors out there with defective gear to end up getting killed. Of course, and this applies for EVERTHING, "What can go wrong, will" - It's called Murphy's Law dummies. If you are so inclined to test and damage your ballistc armor, do it at a rifle range! First shoot at point blank range with a 9mm. Then go ahead and fire a 7.62mm (AK47 or U.S. M-14) at the same distance. See the differance? This is what you are most likely to face in CQC(Close Quarters Combat) Ok, still want to see more? From 50 yards(not far for rifles guys) try the same tests. For a little more excitement, shoot it with a 5.56mm(M-16's and AR-15's) at the same distances. Why? To test it for friendly fire. Why? Did you already forget about Murphey's Law? I hope I never see anything this stupid from our Soldier's again! I could care less if anyone is this stupid at home, eventhough it is sad to hear about accidents like this. He said that they would take the captured weapons out and shoot them before destroying them. He said the AKs were tough and would always fire, but for accuracy they were lacking.     The body armor in this actually can stop the round, I guess its the desert heat getting to them. And try shooting 50 yards away while standing with an AK which probably has less than a 20" barrel, now even with an M4 you could probably miss the plate. And all you guys out there being all nationalistic and full of country pride, the AK series is definetly not the most accurate rifles in the world, no gun is unless its a well made sniper rifle like the M82 or Druganov.

      20" barrel or not (an M4 barrel is 14") if you can't hit a plate from a standing position at 50 yards you are a pretty sad shot and I frankly don't care what long barreled firearm you are using.
