I might add - research the car before you start shopping. Have a good idea about MSRP, resale value, warranties, etc., so you're not at the mercy of some rookie or some shyster.

Also, most domestic dealers get a 3% MSRP kickback from the manufacturer, so even when the dealer says sells you a car "at cost" they've still got another 3% to work with.

I've found my best deals by simply straight out telling the salesperson I don't do haggling and just want the very best price the first time. Then I go to dealer #2 and/or 3 and do the same thing. Saves everyone a lot of time and trouble.

Its simple if you had a civic....no shopping needed. Just get a new civic and you are good for the next 300,000 or more miles.
Stay away from carmax and don't get a ford and you will be safe.
