A When the Women's Health Initiative stopped its estrogen-progestin study prematurely in 2002, after finding that this hormone therapy increased risk for breast cancer, heart attacks, strokes and blood clots, women began looking for alternative menopause treatments. Black cohosh is one popular herbal treatment. Now, a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine finds that black cohosh is no more effective in treating hot flashes and night sweats — common symptoms of menopause—than placebo, or a dummy pill.

    Wow! It would be interesting to know how this study was set up.
    I recognized two Black Cohosh supplements and one that's primarily Red Clover in this video. Black Cohosh has been an effective women's herbal for millennia; wonder why it would suddenly stop being effective?
