    maybe his pre-trip inspection that all truck drivers are required to do, this would not have happened.

    • All the pre trip in the world....

      You can pre-trip till you're blue in the face. A steep down grade can turn brakes to lava no matter how much you inspect.
      My guess is that he did not use the correct braking method coming down the hill. Once the breaks get too hot, they "fade" untill the cool down again.

    I wonder if he/she had to change thier undies after that wreck. Goodness that experience would make one mess them for sure. God must have been looking out for all that day... considering no injuries were reported.

    This is regular equipment inspection and up-keep is very important. Plus... Seattle is hard on brakes, transmissions, gas mileage... Well, just cars in general. maybe you should walk... But not near any run-away trucks.
