Strong winds condition, caught in a sudden downdraft, applied full power, the engine's power-delay.....

Nose wheel collapse, may due to stress from the heavier then usual touchdown on the already 'defective' nose gear mechanism.

Well Done,
it must be tough with those delayed reaction turbines....it's too bad the nose wheel malfunctioned otherwise it wouldve been perfect.

great landing til the nose gear failed
That was a near perfect approach and landing. It looked nice and soft. Chances are, the nose wheel hit something on the landing strip, like a small rock or something, that was the final cause of the gear collapse.

- Nope....
  Outer surface damage only, but we did repair the gear system and pneumatic system...took us about one week to do so.
