    Our cat does the same thing though he prefers foam balls. He also drops his ball in to his water dish after playing for a little while. I don't think we ever played with him long enough to let it get to the point that he dropped it into his litter box.

    He does occasionally drop it into the toilet or into a shoe.

    I have fetching cats as well! Strangely enough, my Daisy also drowns the toy mice in her water bowl...of course Daisy drowns any play toy, or plastic bottle ring, or whatever she has found to play with at the time. Good to hear I'm not the only cat trained person out there!
