  • Never occured to me

I've been daisy chaining my rock climbing ropes for years but it never occurred to me to use the same knot on extension chords. Great idea!

  • Thanks for posting the how-to...

Saw someone do this quickly once long ago and never had a chance to figure it out/see how it was done. Have a long ext. cord that was *always* a mess. Bookmarked this vid last year (the only instructional vid I could find at the time btw!!!), and finally today used it and it worked *great!* I don't think the cord will be harmed at all, did not feel forced, it turned as it wanted, and it stays in a heated garage all year. Five stars for ya! :)

  • and..

thats actually a well known trick, i used to do it at work all the time until i found out its actually bad for the cord. If you use a cord a lot then you need it straight, and the key to that is "training" you cord which means you pull it out straight and while you are pulling it back in you keep it from twisting, you want a good uniform loop each time you wrap it. doing that crap just gets it all crazy looking, oh and good luck doing that in the winter.

    • ha

i was gonna mention that it was a bit sloppy too. o and as far as "winter" i guess it really depends where you live, cuz that would never be a problem here in san diego :)
