    • Yep

It is true that some electricity does come from polluting sources, but gas is much much worse. The real benefit in electricity is that there are more and more ways being invented and utilized of generating it through environmentally friendly means all the time. Solar, wind and tidal plants are becoming more and more popular.

Now, how can we make the process of fuel production environmentally friendly? WE CAN'T!!!

    • SORRY TO BURST YOURE BUBBLE

GET SOME EDUCATION ONE OF THE REASONS ELECTRIC CARS ARE NOT PUSHED IS DUE THE WAY ELECTRICITY IS MADE SO YA GO OUT BUY ELECTRIC THINKING HELP THE ENVIROMENT. BUT THINK HOW ELECTRICITY IS MADE. MOST STILL DEPEND ON FUEL.

    • Hey

First: using all upper case means the same as shouting - not a good way to make someone listen.

Second: It takes fuel to process the crude oil to petrol, and to transport it. Then burning it in the automobile creates yet more pollution. With an electric vehicle, we get rid of at least the last step,

its is probably the most unsafe car ever made, its so light that even smaller petrol cars would destroy this car in a crash

    • Problem with this statement:

If everyone bought massive cars because they were afraid of everyone else's massive cars, we would all be driving gargantuan Ford F-350s around and wasting tons of fuel on moving the TRUCK rather than ourselves. We need to reverse this way of thinking. If everyone was driving small, efficient cars, the roads would be much safer, with the exception of work vehicles.

An electric car is simple to design and build, needs almost no maintenance whatsoever. You can forget about oil changes, spark plugs, air filters, brake pads (yes, electric cars that have regenerative braking never need brake pads), radiator fluid, transmission fluid, and so on.

Now, you may argue a number of things at this point:

      Problem: No range.

Answer: Newer Li-Ion batteries get 350 miles on a charge. If that's not enough for you, you must have one terrible commute.

    • Rebuttle (2 of 3)

Problem: They take too long to charge.

Answer: With a good charger, 10 minutes is all it takes for a full charge.

      Problem: Aren't batteries a pollutant?

Answer: Li-Ion batteries can be made to be biodegradable, recyclable and non-explosive.

Problem: Electric cars cost too much.

Answer: Well, I'll admit that they do at this time. You have to remember though that every new technology is expensive at first. A red laser pointer used to be worth thousands of dollars, but mass production and technical advances have changed that, now haven't they? The same will happen for electric cars.

    • Rebuttle (3 of 3)

      Problem: They're ugly.

Answer: If it's ugly, it's not the batteries fault. It's the maker of the car.

      Problem: They're slow.

Answer: Yeah right! 0-60mph in 3 seconds flat is how fast the X-1 prototype goes, and it cost only $150k American Dollars to build. That's the same acceleration as the Bugatti Veyron, a $1.3 million car!

If you can think of any other problem, there's a solution.

No more excuses people. It's time for change.

  • been waiting for the details on this car

So far, it isn't that impressive. BTW, it says 200 miles per charge.

    By ardavis1979 1191845185
    • Not for long

It's easy to get 350 miles out of a charge these days, and to charge in 10 minutes.

We're still in the developing stages at this point. The technology will only get better from this point on.
