Ok, today let me show you the trick to this question.

The Disappearing Dollar
Three people check into a hotel. They pay $30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager finds out that the room rate is $25 and gives $5 to the bellboy to return. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that $5 would be difficult to share among three people, so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each person. Now, each person paid $10 and got back $1. So they paid $9 each, totalling $27. The bellboy has $2, totalling $29.

i dont get the problem?
where is the problem... each gave 9 dollars - 27 (inlcluding the 2 for the bellboy) so 25 for the room and 2 for the bellboy.

- The problem is...
  the way they state the problem, they add the $2 for the tip in twice: $25 for the room plus $2 for the tip = $27, plus $2 for the tip (again) = $29, not the original $30.
  
  The correct calculation is $25 for the room plus $2 for the tip = $27, plus $3 that they got back = the original $30.
  
  By the way, this has been on Metacafe several times already. Why don't the reviewers catch this?
