  • Of course

There is going to be more compression on the knee kick. That's because he's holding the back of the target so the force has nowhere to go but inward. On all the other kicks the dummy was allowed to fling back, so much of the force pushed it backwards, but the with the knee kick, the guy held the back so that force couldn't be wasted on backward movement. If you take a spinning back kick while someone is holding the pad forward, it would render results much worse than shown.

Which isn't to say a knee kick isn't deadly, mind you. Of course it is.

    • Yeah, I agree

What all of you guys said is true, but I guess that's call knowing how to use your strength well. It might look a little cheap because he's holding the dummy, but no one said you couldn't and plus it's somewhat like tactics.

    • true...

...but how can you hold somebody by the head and do a full length kick? you'll need long ass arms. but i guess you do a martial art other than muay thai, and you are not to happy.

    • I don´t think he is unhappy

I just saw the physics of the fact that a knee, only couldn´t do such damage.

    • good point.

fully agreed. if the knee kick was delivered without holding the victim's head in place, i have a feeling it's not as deadly as the side kick or back kick. Cos it might be cumbersome too. i can't back up my opinions, just a sense.

          • Taikwondo, Karate....

...I've practiced before. Taikwondo's spinning back kick (or the similar reverse roundhouse in my form of karate) generates the most force, as shown in the video but is difficult to master. But a knee is just so much more powerful. After you practice martial arts, the most deadly hits are those used in Mua Tai: elbows and knees. If he didn't grab the dummy, a flying knee still would do more damage to a person. That's why they don't allow sparring tournaments to use a knee, because someone can get really injured, though in my form of karate, we do practice knees and elbows when training

            • But...

the muaythai kicks are still stronger anyway without consider the knees... zzz

              • technically

usuing a knee is not a kick. therefore, not the ultimate kick. if the tkd guy had kicked the dummy and it had something behind it, the numbers probably would have been greater.

the audience perecieves and see the fact, the scientists wants to translate and interpret
