    only thing this will do is speed up your start time. and who cares about start time. Everyone that see's this kinda stuff online and metacafe dont do it only real way to speed up your computer is yo upgrade start with a good cpu throw in some good ram. If you have a slow computer this will only make it slower

    This will mess up some applications. These .exe's are set to automatic. Disabling them will make some applications that require these executables to be running, will not open correctly. Question, why didnt the maker of this video have all his unchecked? hmmm.

    As far as increasing the paging file, if you have a slower harddrive it will not speed up anything. Paging file should = 1 1/2 times your physical memory.

      i agree that if you have a slower hard drive it will not speed up anything but do you know what is slower means it means that you have a Liss than 40 GB hard drive and i think that such hard drive are useless today right
      and about the first baice it is completely wrong

      Dude, no offence meant and please do not mind. Till today, I used to believe that programmers need to have a good command on spellings, as misspelled words might not work in the programming and give programming errors. But really, I had to put in extra effort to try to understand what you have been saying in your responses to the comments. Again, please do not mind, as I assume that English might not be your first language. But the question is, doesn't misspelled words give you problems in your C or C++ programming?

      You've obviously never seen the t-shirt that says... "I'm a p-p-p pro- progra- pro- program- I CODE!"

      It implies programmers can't spell.

      As myself being a coder, spelling problems does not give you problems, due to the fact that you learn these languages as if it is another language, thus you learn the spelling with it. Sure, you make mistakes, but your script lets you know when you make a mistake.

      In PHP it complains like a bad bitch if you make an error (gives you a message that you got this and this wrong in this and this line)

    HardDisk=320GB
    SoundCard=i dunno but it's like normal.
    Visual Card= Nvidia Geforce 8500GT
    OtherExtentions=
    Speakers/Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 surround sound.

    First of all this does not "speed up" your computer. All it does is reduce the number of applications that startup after post/boot. Also increasing the virtual memory wont make it faster, you need to increase you RAM. Virtual memory is created when there is not sufficient ram and ram is much faster to access than the seek time on your HDD. Just increase your ram. Learn how to spell btw.

    i have gone into that with the 2nd trick. you need to have UNPARTIONED disk space, not just emty hard drive space. i put mine to like 1024 be4 i learned that, and i had to throw my HDD out the window -.-

  • This is just asking for TROUBLE

    Being a certified computer tech, I can tell all who watch this, if you do the first "trick" you will have a faster system, but no security, none of the core functions will work, you'll have network problems, system problems and program problems.
    your first clue as to the credibility of this video was all the misspellings, but regardless, DON'T DO IT

    as for the second, virtual memory settings should be no more than 1.5x to 2x your system ram, and you should set both max and min to the same number, THAT will improve your performance

  • That's so incredbly stupid

    Most of those services are essential things like virus and spyware protection and other security features, and network applications, services that run programs and files the right way. There's no point in speeding up your PC if it becomes unusable. What are you going to do without the .NET framework and the Plug and Play service? However, if you go to the Startup tab therem quite a few of the items there can safely be unchecked, things like Quicktime applications...but no security programs or updaters...that just about covers it.

    For the first step do not disable all your startup items as some of them may be vital for your start up.

    Also, the 2nd way to speed up your computer won't work well, because your paging should be 1.5 times your physical memory if you have the hard drive space which you should.

    Plus this guy cant spell :D 1 star for effort

      the programmers are not an angels they are humans
      and they are looking for money and
      we are the buyers so every program you install leave some sing that run in task when you start windows
