this a strange animal atleast for me....I shooted it when i went for my mauritius holidays......it suddenly came out of th sea and then was the center of attraction for many tourists......

  No dear it didnt die..thats the fact.....if it wud have been a fish than it wud have died in few minutes but it was alive ....it was lyin on the beach for more than 1 hour.....and i thnk later on some fisherman caught it......huh

- I think it is a starfish
  I looked it up and common starfish have 4, 5, or 9 arms. Some even up to 24 arms. The largest type is 3 ft. in diameter while the smallest is one inch. Although I'm not 100%, I would call it a starfish.

- Unusual and Cool!!!
  I didn't think it was an octopus or starfish, becoz I counted 9 arms instead of the 8. But I looked it up in Wikipaedia, and it is, indeed member of the starfish family. Wonderful specimen with butter & lemon!
